i built this kit up with the intention of putting it into a dio that i plan to do some time in the future when i actually have space to make one, my thought is to make a dio of a garage that specializes in restoring rare and powerful cars. the taurus SHO here was in my parts box and after digging around i found almost the entire thing still on the sprues, i decided to make it in to a junkyard car because it is missing some parts, you probably wont notice them as its a few parts of the engine and some of the exhaust. the car is not complete yet im still working on some weathering, this is my first attempt at it and id like to try a few more things on this guinea pig of a project. but so far i like how the car looks, the front driver side tired is deflated and leaves the car lopsided(had to fiddle with the suspension to get it to sit flat and not rock), the rearview mirror glue has given up and the mirror lays on the dash, the cars exhaust rusted out and has simply been cut off leaving just mufflers and exhaust tips. a lot of the things ive done to this car were a first time attempt, weathering being one, adding spark plug wires and brake lines, custom exhaust tips from a small sized hobby pipe( not sure what its actually for but it makes a nice exhaust tip.). any comments good or bad are appreciated especially if you can give me some ideas on how to make it better .

3 days after getting my license i t-boned a lady who ran a stop sign with my dads newer pontiac sunfire. dad was happy, bought a harley with the money, mom was pissed. very nice build, and a good topic to go with it!

thanks for instructions on the signs, everytime i check back this dio gets better and better. that is awesome work!

that sink is incredible, i do have a question how did you make the signs on top of the shelf there, the Chevrolet service sign, and the others?

and this is why cars should be based off of skill and not how much money you have, its always the idiots driving nice cars like this. and im stuck driving a BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH cruze.....

Just wanted to get some ideas and give some ideas on cheap supplies and tools for everybody. over the past few weeks my hobby lobby went nuts with clearance mark downs so check your local store- some examples of stuff i have seen olds hurst kit -8.60 viper kit - 7.19 buick gsx- 7.19 createfx weathering bottles are around 2.33 a bottle nice quality spray paint cans are 3-4 dollars createfx paint pens are like 3.59 it seems like they are trying to rid themselves of testors createfx line, from what ive used of the line its decent stuff for the price.

The firebird has been set a side for a bit so I can get more work done on this camaro. The following pics are the interior, the car is going to be red exterior with allthepieces that are normally the black plastic painted flat aluminum to match the interior. Also had a neat idea for a scale size of the dash protectors all I have on that so far is a picture still trying to decide how to proceed on that, considering thin cardboard to give it the same folding effect as in real life.

Thanks I never thought about the flipping of the iPad that's actually probably what it is ill try on my next post. The camaro is jus t a frame at this point it's the frame with the lt-1 one it. Any pointers are appreciated, I've looked around the forums and seen some incredible build that put mine to shame pretty easily lol. I'd like to do spark plug wires, I have red coated wire that should be about the correct size but I wanted to see how people made the plugs for the ends. I'd also like to add carpet does fabric from the craft store work if its the right texture or is there and easier way to do this?

Update- the firebird progressed well until I got to the body, the front end and the hood appear to either be from another kit or shaved down to the point they do not fit on the body correctly, I guess that's why they used a half a tube of glue on it. Still up in the air on if I'm going to fix it or just complete the rest of the car and keep the front off for a dio I'd like to do one day. Also adding pics of the camaro, found some old chrome badges from an older kit and ill be throwing those on after I find their the parts box again. Also not sure why the pictures uploaded upside down.... Lol

I've had this car sitting in my junk box for a few years dreading the day I would work on it, the original builder did a pretty ad glue job, did no painting, and the worst part.... Cut custom t tops in the roof without measure( they are very crooked). A few days ago I pulled it out cut everything apart and set to work, I'm still fitting all the customer stuff in and making the parts fit. The car had no drivetrain whatsoever when I got it, I put in a rear that I had to cut down to fit long ways and between the tires, the engine and trans are the 3800 v6 from the Buick grand national that I can't find all the parts to so that's also stil in the works. I repainted the interior( still have to do touch ups on this) adding in a roll cage and racing seats. So far I like how it's turning out a lot better than I thought it would but any ideas and tips would be appreciated. The body itself is the worst part I'm probably going to cut it apart at the glue and re apply the glue, there are huge gaps between bumpers. I'll be adding more photos when I can take decent pictures. I will also be adding pics of the 94 camaro tomorrow, I've finished part of the engine and the rear so far.

awesome idea for the floor. im starting my build tonight, im using a cardboard base and the building will be made of the foamcore stuff. i may double to triple layer the cardboard incase i want to make uneven terrain. the cardboard is quite thick so i can hopefully make the illusion of a hills or such with a little bit of carving. im still deciding on the walls and outside not sure how to go about that yet. thanks for all the help thus far. when i find my camerea ill be throwing pics of the build and of all my cars up.

i have a 1992 grand prix i love the car, im currently working on a model of it, i got the wrong model kit( my car has the aero kit) the model kit does not lol.

i could use some tips and advice on building a garage diorama. any tips or help are greatly appreciated. basically i have been building model cars for quite some time and am looking to make a small diorama now that i can add on to later. i just need to know what kind of materials to use and how to weather it. the grass and natural stuff is pretty easy but im not sure how to go about the garage itself. i was considering using cardboard since it is easy to cut and replace. since this is my first im anticipating a few mess ups. thanks in advance.
