  1. Well, 3+ years later, after moving, putting stuff in storage, getting it back out of storage, and finishing several other builds, I am finally back on this. It took forever to get the tin right but I think I am finally about there. Gotta figure out a match for this old blue Testor’s enamel and I should be wrapping this up in a week or two.
  2. And as you may have seen, we won’t be relying on Stevens for much longer as they are closing in 2016
  3. I have bad luck with any Walmarts I’ve stopped in having kits. Will have to try again this year.
  4. The white JJ car looks really cool in white.
  5. Aurora body - wow!!!! Beautiful build!
  6. All told, it's in incredible number of interesting kits coming out! And I am glad to see the Malco Gasser back. For old times sake, I will be getting the longnose Mustang FC. I still have the body of my childhood version of the kit in a box somewhere! Thanks for all the pics and comments!
  7. I didn't even know that they had started shipping the kit, and you have already built it!!! Very, very nice work!!!
  8. That is so nice!!!! BTW, if you are shooting with the camera on your phone, you can get less blurriness if you back 2 or so feet from the model, then zoom in to take the shot.
  9. Lots of nice stuff!!! If you look closely at the side art for the Riv, it mentions a suggested Tamiya paint for the body of each of the 3 building options. Never seen them recommend Tamiya paints before.
  10. It is a nice kit and your build is fantastic!!
  11. That’s really nice with the perfect stance! Those MPC kits certainly aren’t perfect! For your next FC, I’d suggest one of Revell’s early/mid 70s FC kits - such as the Vega kit you took the injectors from. The rear axle needs to be dropped a bit on those to lower the rear, but they build up nicely. Also, if you can find a Revell Hawaiian Charger or Chi Town Hustler (those have 1970 Charger bodies) from 2010 or so at a reasonable price, they are excellent, modern kits.
  12. Shirley's car looks great! Nice work!
  13. It builds up into a very nice looking model!
  14. Here is one on eBay. Pricey and the seller says to expect to wait a few weeks. No idea if the part is nice or not.
  15. The new 54 percent tariff on goods coming from China will make kits super pricey. I wonder if R2 will hold off on development for a while as a result. I also wonder if there is enough kit tooling expertise in US to bring production here. I believe Salvinos designs and molds kits in the US.
  16. Made it to Park City, UT today. Great show coverage!
  17. Very, very nice. I built one as well, but had to start with the hardtop - cut it off and used a Modelhaus convertible boot.
  18. The hat looks great!
  19. I bought this when it was released and finally built it. While there are several tricky parts to the build (despite its a fairly low parts count) I’m happy with how it looks - it is such a cool car. I’m not sure what I was thinking, but I did not join and putty the two-piece front section of the body before I started building. And I should have sanded off the battleship rivets on the wedge. You’ll also note that the white decals have some bleed thru. But I’m still happy with how it looks!
  20. Love the Atomic Al build! Very nice!
  21. Pretty cool that you have that. What sort of shocked me is that the Polar Lights funny cars came out 26 years ago. I bought several, and haven't built one of them yet! I did use parts from a couple of the kits on other builds (especially the wheels.) Chris
  22. I probably will pick up a copy. As Tim says, several online vendors have it too and you can save a few bucks buying from a couple of them.
