  1. They're all fantastic!! I'm jealous of your eyesight too :-)
  2. That's nice! I'd be proud to call it my own.
  3. It kinda looks like something out of 'Doctor Who' !! Nice job!
  4. " The answer my freind, is blowing in the wind"...
  5. If I was "dad", I wouldn't be happy with my son either!! If I was the 'son", I'd still be running!! It looks great!! Nice work
  6. Nice work! it looks great!
  7. Really nice!! Believe it or not, the '61 looks like it was the basis for the styling of the EH in my avatar!
  8. That's really nice Dominik! I like the licence plates! Nicely done! James.
  9. Wow! - The Chrysler 300 is looking like it came from the styling dept! Maybe you should send them a pic as a suggestion? The BMW looks great too. A metallic gray with the body sitting a little higher to be able to soak up the bumps in the road would be my style. Great job so far!! James.
  10. That really is an ambitious project! With shading and stars, the paint job will look cool. One suggestion tho, the plug wires need gravity - let them droop over the valve covers. Kind regards, James.
  11. Congratulations Jonathan and Co! All the best on your new arrival! I sincerely hope you have a smile on your face for the rest of your life because of the gift you've been blessed with. I can still remember the 5th of May 1993 when I cut the the cord at 03:32am, The radio was playing a song by 'Axiom' called " A little ray of sunshine" at the exact moment my daughter came into the world. All the best!!
  12. I'd suggest putting the spray nozzle into an ols saucepan of thinners, and leaving it there for 30 minutes. I bought a rattle can od duplicolor and the can just refused to spray. The nozzle went into general purpose thinners and then it sprayed better than expected!
  13. Nick, That's a nice Falcon, but it's wrong! The paint on the car is too glossy, the film cars were painted in slate gray. Absolutely no gloss on them/it at all. Roll on Fury Road, one day...!
  14. Thanks Doug, So far so good for me in Sydney. I've heard of two modelors in Toowoomba who watched it flow past them. Andy Douglas of www.scaleautomobilia.com.au is in the firing line though. I recon in 24 - 36 hours and his shop will be under. Not for the first time. James.
  15. I want to say a very happy new year to everyrone on the board. Those who are happy, and especially those who are sad. Better days are coming. To everybody, I hope you all have wonderfull 2011. Keep building!! I want to learn to post photos this year, that's my mission, and to you some of my silly builds. Cheers, James.
  16. That's a really nice '41!! I love these things The only trouble with the kit is that they need extra styrene between the hood and the top of the fenders, where the blue and the black meet in your pics. If only it was moulded beeter!. excellent work, James.
  17. Cool!, I was just scrolling through the pics and noticed the rego plate! Nice build, but the plate made me stop. Nice touch mate! James.
  18. Bruce, Can I suggest something before it's too late? I was looking at the pics of your primered Nomad and the yellow Nomad in the post above, and thought... Hmmm, maybe losing the sculpture in the bodywork immediately in front of the rear wheels? It's an Impala thing, not a Nomad thing. Just thingking out loud! Feel free to ignore my suggestion! James.
  19. If the tube of glue has a plastic nozzle, then wire may be the way to go. Maybe if you can heat the wire before it goes into the nozzle?, just to help it along the way....? It's not as if I'd suggest such a dangerous thing to do, only while there's plenty of snow around... If that doesn't work, you could always buy another tube???, and store it upright with the nozzle pointing up.
  20. John, I've seen the rain in Calif on tv in Australia, but the pictures don't tell me exactly where the rain is falling. I dont mean to come accross as to those that are in flood and in 5 months time will be in wildfire to sound disrespectfull... but... A brother of mine has recently purchased a '34 Ford from around the Santa Monica area - somewhere close by anyway. It's all original '34 except for the body which has been replaced by a fibreglass coupe body. We were looking at the tv news and John mentioned the car he's just bought, and I said don't worry, it's got a glass body on it, it'll float! We hope Santa Monica has good drainage, I've been there, walked on the pier looking at the beach and the Pacific, wondering why do all these people drive their cars down the hill onto the pier, turn around and drive back up the hill?, and there was a looong que of cars, what's the point in doing that? There's no parking on the pier that I can recall. Anyhow, James.
  21. Mr G, I understand your pain.... although... Some doctor on tv this morning said the way to find inner peace is to finish all the things you started. So I looked around my house to see things I'd started but hadn't finished, and before leaving for work, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonay, a bodle of Bailey's, a budle of wum, a peck of prungles, the mainder ov a bodle ov prozic n valiuminum skripshunz, the ress ov the cheescke an a box ov chokletz. Yu haf no idr how bludy fablus I feel rit e now! Pleze tell em yu larv em an ineedawee an wishem a cherry mismass!! James...zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!
  22. Definately the Polar Lights kit! Just a few hours to go now....
  23. Mike, I think you've already answered your own question. Acrylic thinner..... I don't have an airbrush, so my models are sprayed with rattle cans, although I've sprayed my own 1:1 which looks just the car in my avatar with acrylic, and the only way to thin the paint was with acrylic thinner. Testors said you were doing everything correct, except you weren't using acrylic thinner. Maybe it's a cost issue, but if you've been able to fork out for an airbrush and compressor already, surely a can of acrylic thinners wont set you back that far? Perhaps the only product you haven't yet used to thin the paint is exactly what you need. Perhaps. ??
