  1. Vega body would be outstanding. I'd be good for at least two. Aaron Dupont
  2. Great build! I remember these in the early 60's. They were all business! And there were a lot of innovations going on. reat time in racing! Aaron Dupont
  3. That looks like the "Mr Unswitchable" GTO funny car. Nice work. And nice twist to make it your own. Aaron Dupont
  4. Prayers coming your way! Aaron Dupont
  5. Patrick: If you need just the tear drop bubble, try Scale Models by Chris. I just picked one up from him. It was very nice! Hope that helps! Aaron Dupont
  6. Nice build so far! I love different cars. This would probably have fit into the Altered Coupe/Sedan class back in the day. You've given me an idea for another build. Aaron Dupont
  7. Hi all: I have a tendency to work five to eight projects at a time. When I get an idea, I've got to pull a kit, start gathering pieces parts, making body mods or chassis mods. I end up detailing three or four engines at a time, chassis, same thing. Then suddenly I'm completing three or four models at the same time. I rarely was models before priming. I never soak resin bodies in Westly's or soap. Usually I sand the body before primer. If I have a problem during primer, then more sanding. And mostly I've GOT to cut myself at least once after replacing exacto blades. I super glued my finger closed last night after a new blade cut through my skin like butter. I was told that Crazy Glue is the same formula as used in emergency rooms. But hobby ACC works well! Aaron Dupont
  8. I got a resin body off ebay. It was kind of thick, but workable. I used a Winged Express chassis under mine. Aaron Dupont
  9. Jason: When spraying neon paint, spray it over a flat white base. Then the color covers great and the neon pops! I' plan on picking up some Folk Art paint tomorrow to try out. Thanks for the vids! Aaron Dupont
  10. Hi all. This 62 year old got a 96% A Chrysler and De Soto crossed me up. Well done everybody!
  11. Matt: I have a set of decals for the Red 55 Chev. They seem to be the same as the Black one. I believe I got them from Jack at Tp End decals. I hit the name on my favorites and it now comes up as being on Facebook. Check that out. Jack Smith I believe is hos name. I've used a few other sets of his decals and have had great success with them. Aaron Dupont
  12. Excellent build! I have one of the diecast Studdy's. This is what I wanted to do it, but without the tilt front end. I also have a resin body. You've given me inspiration with your build! Aaron Dupont
  13. With the top cut in four pieces, Put styrene in the gaps until the pillars line up. Putty and sand. Aaron Dupont
  14. Great idea for a gasser! Aaron Dupont
  15. I'm planning on starting with a Wild Willie Borsh altered kit chassis. Kitbash the cage and you should be very close. Aaron Dupont
  16. I love "what ifs"! It lets your imagination loose! Plus they are usually very fun builds! Aaron Dupont
  17. I've got two (so far). One will be a period gasser. The second one I picture with quad headlites and rest mildly customized. Possibly a custom in progress with primer etc. Just like when I was young. We drove them daily. And worked on them daily too. I like the Gas Monkey Garage idea also. Patina with nice interior and huge engine. You know like a Pro Mod barn find. Aaron Dupont
  18. FIY all: The WILL be back in Cleveland next year. There is also an option for 2014. Donn's right, where were the aftermarket guys? Price a problem? Share a booth with one or two other vendors. Great way to share the hobby and get product recognition. It's a trade show #1. Money making #2. Get your product noticed by other dealers. It could open up new sales avenues! I'm also a train guy. Although they were well represented, it was mostly beginner stuff. Not much hardcore hobby stuff. But they were trying to attract NEW model railroaders. That was they're mission at I Hobby. It's all in how you look at the show and what you expect vs the overall mission. Aaron Dupont
  19. Sorry to post this, but according to a post on the HAMB, Norm passed away around 6:00 AM this morning. RIP Norm. There will never be another "crazy" like you!
  20. Cleveland's not so bad a place! Born and raised there. I've lived in alot of places in the military. But still returned to live in Cleveland. The show is here due to pricing. My friend at Walthers said it was cheaper for them to put the show on in Cleveland. They were astounded at the size of the IX Center. Travel around the city is easier than Chicago, NO TOLLS. I build masters for State Tool and Die in model railroading. We were not invited. Maybe we're not big enough to be on they're radar. Yes we would have the added expense of building a simple booth. Three people run the business, so the shop would have to close for the duration of the show. But then I'm retired and would have loved to do the show. I'll be there all day Saturday. I'm more interested in model car stuff. But will be spending time at the Walthers booth and Depot Trains booth. If you stop by Depot Trains tell them Aaron sent you. A couple of my model railroading buddies are coming in from Pittsburgh. So we'll be hanging out together. I'll probably be wearing a silver/grey golf shirt with Railroad Industrial SIG and a vessel pouring molten steel embroidered above the pocket. If you see me stop me and say hey! Enjoy the show! Aaron Dupont
  21. I've been trying his email, but never got an answer from numerous emails. I'm looking forward to his new site! I'd really like to place an order. But I'm not fond of Pay Palling money with no contact first. Aaron Dupont
  22. That is totally outstanding! I've always wanted to build a Turbine. But did not want to build it stock. Thanks for the idea. Now I need to find one. Maybe a Hemi powered gasser!
  23. Myself and three of my model railroading friends are going Sat morning. My friend from Walthers is coming in to work at the show. Aaron Dupont
