Just noticed while sanding the dash on my Del Rio kit that there are no radio, heater control or clock details molded into it. I don't know if the Del Rio would have had the clock or radio. But, it should have had the heater controls. I checked the decals thinking they might be there. But, they're not. A small snafu that can be easily fixed on the decal sheet. It actually was a good thing for me since I'm building mine as a custom. But, others may be annoyed by it.
Hmmm. I only have one signature on ignore and it works whether that person starts a topic or posts. I did have it on ignore on the "old" forum. So, that may be the difference. Just for the heck of it, I put your signature on ignore and it worked fine in the two different threads you had posted in. I had to go into my ignore user section to switch it back on. It was there as soon as I came back to this thread.
I always just copy and paste photos into my reply. I never used the insert media or add photo options. I used to be able to copy and paste the IMG code from Photobucket. But now, when I try to copy the IMG code, the box goes black. I use Firefox on both. Apparently Photobucket doesn't work the same with Firefox as it used to. I just went to my Photobucket using my IE browser and it allowed me to copy the IMG code. Weird. So far, I haven't had any problems posting photos.
Part of the fitment problem with the six cylinder could be due to a couple of problems with the engine itself. The block is 1mm taller at the rear than the front. It looks like more. But, it's not. Still, very noticeable to me. The other problem is the bell housing mount isn't square with the block. It's cocked towards the front at the bottom making the transmission have quite a bit of a downward slope.
I'm going to make the necessary corrections and cast a few to use on other projects.
I had an uncle that ordered every Ford pickup he owned. They were always top of the line on the outside with cab lights, base in the inside with vinyl seat, roll up windows and rubber floor mats. His last pickup was an XLT Lariat with an XL interior. My brother bought a used '78 F-250 that had been special ordered. It had all kinds of weird options. I have a friend in the drywall business that does almost the same thing. He currently has a '13 FX-4 Supercab with leather and power everything. But, it has the rubber floor mats. Just because it isn't in a brochure, doesn't mean it wasn't made or ordered.
That does look a lot better. Are your lenses curved? Mine were curved the wrong way. They fit the bezels better if I turned the detail inside. I sanded the smooth side of the lenses until they were flat, then painted them again. That allowed me to leave the back up lights clear.
It is pin specific. I do the same thing with Ford engines. I know the '73 up six cylinders had the sump at the rear. But, according to this schematic, the '65 to '72s had the sump in the middle. http://www.fordification.com/tech/images/schematics/engine_I6-01.jpg There's a three owner '69 just up the road from me that I can look at to confirm.
Andy, could you take a good side photo of the area where the bottom of the fender meets the rocker panel and the rocker panel also please? To me, the rocker panel detail on both kits look a little heavy as in the roll at the very bottom is too prominent. I know sometimes certain details get exaggerated in order to make them show up better on a kit. If it needs attention, I'll do it to my sedan and my next Del Rio. My Del Rio is almost ready for paint. But, that may not stop me from fixing it if it needs it.
You did. Relax. I was able to turn the email notifications off. Get the preview thingee working and I think you'll have it. Click on the message you want to delete. Click "message" at the top right. Click leave conversation and it's gone.
That was pretty cool. Two separate posts were automatically merged.
