HOBOY! HOT NEWS! 1974 Dodge Monaco Police Cars Coming!!!!

Hoping that these are fairly accurate - the pent-up demand for this subject in 1/24th-1/25th scale should be huge!!! -
Paint is Model Master Phoenician Yellow with Duplicolor clear wetsanded and polished out. Bumpers had the "1965" removed and then replated by Chrome-Tech. Interior iscarpeted with embossing powder and has window handles from Replicas And Miniatures and Scale Sports upholstery decals. Body had the sedan window frames removed and rocker panel and rear quarter panel trim added from the coupe donor body. Special thanks to Tulio Lazzaroni"Lovefordgalaxie" for the information on how to paint the hubcaps and Marcos Cruz for his guidance on scratchbuilding the antenna(21 gauge hypodermic tubing and .0015 stainless steel wire).

Just in time for Father's Day - a replica of my dad's 1965 Ford Galaxie 4 door, AKA "Charlie Brown". This was based on the Modelhaus' 65 Ford Custom 4 door sedan resin piece and the AMT/Ertl 1965 Ford coupe - not perfect, but I'm satisfied with the results:

BEAUTIFUL craftsmanship on the conversion - it truly appears as an injection-molded piece!! The clear headlights are a marked improvement over the chromed ones that were engraved with the grille as well!!

Always enjoyed Joseph Wambaugh's writings, as well as Carl Hiassen's fairly accurate portrayals of all of my fellow deranged Florida citizens.... .

A BIG thank you to Vincent Nelson (Vintagedragcrazy) for the stock Little Red Express wheels and hubcaps!! When I get this thing done I'll owe a debt to you!!

What did you see on the road today?

Would There be any Interest?

I recently contacted Larry about the possibility of buying two interiors for some upcoming projects. He was personable and supplied me with two NICELY cast interior kits within a week or so - a good caster to deal with!! -

Your prototype looks very well crafted - please keep us posted on any future developments. I think if you successfully bring it forward as a resin kit you will have a widespread market for them!! -

FM 1965 Lambandi? Oh I can hear the crickets chirping!

I think Mark Gustavson was much more successful with his "Mercari" as far as style and execution. -
My condolences to you on losing your buddy - hope you meet again at The Rainbow Bridge.

I just learned of this - what a kick in the gut. I enjoyed his posts, both modeling and real life related - my prayers and heart go out to his family at this time.

finally.. some progress on the el camino..
lizardlust replied to jeffb's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hi Jeff - Just wanted to let you now that the marketplace for the El Camino still exists if and when they become available. I'll happily send you the money for a pair of 'em tomorrow if they were ready!!! -
First car that I remember - my dad's 1965 Ford Galaxie four-door. It was Phoenician Yellow with a ginger-colored interior, had (I THINK) a 352 with an automatic and duals, and eventually the rear door weatherstripping failed. The rear floor wells would fill with rainwater when it rained - made for FUN foot baths when you are four(Mom wasn't amused!). Nice old car with the nickname of Charlie Brown. I'm currently fumbling toward making a replica of it from the Modelhaus 1965 Ford Custom sedan kit and the AMT 1965 Galaxie kit.....

BEAUTIFUL rendition!!!!

Chassis looks great - even down to the catalytic converter. Good to see you building again, Ayatollah!!!
