  17. Hi Folks, My friend Pasquale, the man behind GPModeling, sent me info a couple of weeks ago on the new DD60 engine he is going to sell. .... Kit Description: The Detroit Diesel Series 60 is a six-cylinder inline diesel engine produced from 1987 to 2011. The most used versions in the road transport sector are the 12.7 liter and the 14 liter (entered service in 2001). The Series 60 engines were revolutionary when introduced thanks to their electronic control system, which was the first to appear in on-road engine applications. The version of this TK is the 12.7 Liter (note that the external dimensions of the engine block are practically the same between the two displacements) in DDEC IV (Detroit Diesel Electronic Control) configuration. Compared to the original kit (which includes the alternator on one side and the air conditioning compressor on the opposite side) I preferred to install the single support plate for the two systems on the right side (standardized version since 2002), thus also modifying the layout of the straps as in reality. The valve cover has also undergone several changes over the years. In this TK the one-piece version was used as, in my opinion, it is the most aesthetically pleasing. The KIT engine is specifically designed for the 1/24 scale Peterbilt 377 and 378 series trucks. The Italeri 3857 kit relating to the Peterbilt 378 Long Hauler was used as a reference but it can also be used with the following kits: ITALERI kit nĀ° 740 Peterbilt 377 A/E scala 1/24 ITALERI kit nĀ° 746 Peterbilt 378 US Conventional Truck scala 1/24 ITALERI kit nĀ° 3894 Peterbilt 378-119 Classic scala 1/24 AMT kit nĀ° 1337/08 Peterbilt 377 A/E scala 1/24 AMT kit nĀ° 1169/08 Peterbilt 378 Long Hauler scala 1/24 REVELL kit nĀ° 07527 Peterbilt 377 A/E scala 1/24 The TransKit is printed with 6k/8k 3D technology and is supplied on print media. A decal sheet (not pre-cut) is included which reproduces the service labels of the various components. Overall there are over 30 parts. Here are some pics.... This is another wonderful design by Claudio de Bellis . He has it up on his store for pre-order https://gpmodeling.shop/collections/gpmodeling-transkit/products/gpmodeling-detroit-diesel-series-60-engine-1-24-scale Randy
  18. Steve, Thank you my friend. I am saddened by the news that we are losing NNL West Thanks Daniel !! Appreciate the comment Chris. Glad you like it Steve (cifenet) Thank you David!! Pierre, I do try to look at each part and figure out how to create it. Most times the more parts I break it down into the better it comes out. Of course I never show the bad onesšŸ˜ Noel, Thank you siršŸ™‚ You are too kind Andy, That part is 2 of the RBMotion .047"rod ends. Cut the shaft off one and drilled it, left a nub on the other and epoxied together. Randy
  19. Hi Folks, Pierre. One thing I never do is figure out how much time I spend on these partsšŸ¤£I have to be the slowest modeler! Thank you Art! and thank you for that last order of nuts and bolts. Andy, no leering allowed here Sir! Appreciate the comment Chris, now get back to work on that beautiful Ferrari! Daniel, thank you my friend. See you are still getting well deserved awards for that wonderful dragster! Hey David, With the big front clip, open interior tub and large trunk opening I do think that most of the details will still be visible in this car...I hopešŸ˜ Tim, you are too kind buddy! So good to have you back. You are a true unicorn in our little world of modeling. Thank you Steve !! Francis, Humbled by your comments Sir! I have amassed alot of white metal detail castings in my train modeling and use these as "stock" that I cut and file to shape. Right back at you Charlie, your threads are just awesome! Thanks Big John !! Some progress... The input side of the transaxle has a gear driven oil pump and Maserati did their usual 4 miles of external oil lines.... Making up the shifter and linkage .... The linkage joint coming off the transaxle is not functional but I wanted the joint next to shifter to be workable to aid in setting the shifter in place. The joint is not a typical u-joint but rather 2 clevis that are formed together....using a shifter gate and lever from this set making up the rest... The shifter has a round shaft that I flattened to resemble the 1/1. The eyelets for the clevis are RBMotion items that are modified. more ....
