  1. If you want to talk to a human on the phone and someone that knows their stuff give Andy Douglas a call at Scaleautomobilia in Grafton. He's a good guy and is super helpful, Scaleautomobilia also has a website too.
  2. I loved this magazine and have a few old copies laying around still. I loved Trosley's work especially Krass and Bernie, they were the highlight of the whole magazine and no one else could draw as neat and as cool as Trosley.
  3. Those Hellcats are a horrible looking car, big flat sided brick with hardly any style. Pity they didn't have some nicer curves. As for the electric car, they're not really my thing either, simply don't interest me.
  4. I've always found building to be a great chance to escape from the real world dramas we all face day to day. It's been my fall back safety net since I was about 8 years old and now 32 years later I still use it to relax and unwind. It's heaps cheaper than building them in 1:1 scale and when I'm saving dollars for the full size toys I model also. At Christmas I was diagnosed with liver cancer so since then I've been hitting the models a bit harder to act as a distraction from the dozens of tests I've had, hopefully in a few weeks time I'm heading in for surgery to remove a large section of my liver and remove the cancer, I'll be laid up for awhile so it'll give me even more chance to drag out and finish some more stuff. We all need an outlet to unwind and forget about the dramas of life, I like building models.
  5. Interesting read, always nice to learn a little bit of model car history.
  6. Rod Hadfield's '55 Chev, built in Australia and later taken to America and sold.
  7. Got mine to Terry, thanks heaps mate. Eventually I'll post some pics up when I start the truck Cheers and thanks again Terry
  8. Always loved the looks of them, one of my mates imported on a few years back and had done a heap of work on it. Cool car.
  9. That's gold! It's a pity the market is to small here to justify producing them but I think non modellers would have a go at these. There's plenty of V8 fans that'd probably have a go at building their favourite drivers car.
  10. Very interesting read, thanks Dave for taking the time to outline the process involved in developing and producing a kit.
  11. Would be good to see, if they did one of the Fords and one of the Holdens. Than you could do multiple versions by just changing the decals. The Holdens are the same as the Chevrolet SS's they run in NASCAR.
  12. Even though a lot of you guys maybe wont recognise the cars: Holden LJ XU1 Torana in Strike Me Pink. Holden L34 Torana in Barbados Green or Caribbean Turquise. Holden A9X Torana sedan or hatch in Palais white. Holden Sandman van in Mint Julip Green. And I've always been partial to Atlantis Blue which was the factory colour of my old van. 68 Camaro in Black! We had a black SS Commodore a few years back and it looked great when it was clean but keeping it clean was impossible. Black is a high maintenance colour but it's worth the work.
  13. I'd love to get hold of one of the Transit vans, that Paris-Dakar one looks cool.
  14. I built quite a few 1/72 ESCI military kits when I was younger and they went together really well, I know a few guys that have built the rally Escort and they all say it's a great kit.
