thanks guys! I'm a child of the 70's so I'm not too familiar with the Deuce. I kept searching the Internet for a Ford engine that looked like this. A hemi explains a lot. Very cool...now I definitely have to fit some plug wires to make this look real!

32 Ford Revell..why holes in valve cover?
Hey guys - I have this kit (32 Ford Revell link below) and the "older V-8" does not appear to be a flathead, but they have 4 holes in each valve cover. Is this a ford engine that had plug wires that came through? Or is this just a silly looking rocker cover.
    Thanks! http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/rmx/rmx854228.htm

very cool GP! Those wheels are spot on and the engine looks spectacular. Well done.
  7. 106miles added a post in a topic 1990 Taurus SHO

Thanks guys. I basically had to cut the rear suspension and refit it. The color is actually a GM red that I thought looked close to the Ford Current red on the SHOs. I always liked the '90 wheels with the "SHO" lug covers. For the intake a mix a touch of gold paint with silver to get that anodized look. Great fun! I gotta dig up some more 80's/90's kits!

Thanks guys! She has an artsy side, but I don't think she'll have quite the car bug that I do! She's really enjoying reading the feedback!

    1990 Taurus SHO
I've always wanted a real first Gen SHO. This is that silly old kit in which the intake, wheels, and headlights come in chrome. I made the best of it. I lowered the stance down from 4x4 height as well.

Ford Mustang GT500 - 8 year old daughter!
Hi all. My 8 year old girl completed this Revell Mustang. It is her first model (I helped just a little). The only pink paint I had was some ancient brush-on Pactra paint. It was brushed on, sanded, and clear coated! She did a great job with the decals too. She wants to get another model, which is cool.

  12. 106miles added a post in a topic Making time for Modelling

Great topic! This is always an issue for me. I have two young daughters (3 and 7). I have to spend some wife quality time after the kids go to bed. So, my time is pretty much 5 to 5:30 AM or so. I might shoot some paint at 9:30 at night or so. I've tried to work when the kids are doing crafts, but usually I can't get two seconds in before they are over picking up my paint or something! Modeling, however, is easier to work on than the MG I have sitting in the garage. The bodywork requires me changing clothes and making lots of noise...can't be done at 5 AM!

very nice! I like to see a nice clean build. Did the kit come with the whitewalls or did you have to apply those as a decal?

Nice! What brand/type of paint did you use?
Does this kit have an automatic or 4-speed?

    '69 Charger Revell - Intro
Hi - just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. Haven't been building models long, but it is a nice change from working on my 1:1 '73 MGB restoration. With two young daughters and a house to take care of, I can't find the time for welding/cutting/grinding on a full size car. But, pulling a model out and getting a couple things done is a real nice alternative! I'm really enjoying the projects people post and the tips. Below are some pics of a Revell '69 Charger I'm working on - nothing great..went with black Krylon and some 1:1 automotive clear I had around. I made some plug wires with the metal from bag ties. The 440 is a much better orange in person! Bill
