  1. I have an extremely easy and simple technic I use after sanding the tread. It involves putting the tires in a container full of sand with just a touch on talcum powder to help adhesion. The best part is, is that the sand also gets down in the tread and gives the whole thing a used look.
  2. Cool!!! I have funds put back just for this kit!! Looking forward to it!!!
  3. As a fellow fire apparatus builder, I'm going to be folowing this one very closely! Looks like you're off to a great start Dave!!! Matt "W"
  4. That is to freakin' cool, and it's also a fantastic idea for the hospital!!!
  5. Dave, I do believe you are right. Judging by the length, (unless it was lengthened by whoever added the ramp deck) it was a ladder truck.
  6. You just hit the nail on the head with a sledgehammer!!!! Dave, I'll second Ben's comment!!! GREAT job!!!!
  7. Everything in the bed with exception of the hose reel (AMT ALF kit) and the seat (parts box) is scratchbuilt. The bezels for the gauges are cut off pieces of a spent .22 caliber rifle shell. The traffic caone is the cap off a super glue container. The nozzle on the hose reel is a length of plastic q-tip stick with a piece of paper clip for a handle. I still have one other major thing to do, and that is to fab up a roll bar/cage around the seat. Matt "W"
  8. Here's as far as I got on the Revell Snap Pete befor I decided to start a couple of trailers. I started the Peerless log trailer and then while I was working on it, I kept staring at the flatbed, and so I started it too. After I got it started, and after reading all the great reviews on the Lonestar, so that's what I'm working on now. I WILL get it FINISHED!!! I've already decided to change the interior color to better go along with the two-tone exterior color scheme I'm wanting to do.
  9. ["I'm waiting on more parts so I can finish it!"] Ben, I thought that was your middle name.
  10. Ben, that's EXACTLY what it is!!!! I can't count all of my "almost" finished kits!
  11. Niko, here is a shot of a Hendrick Motorsports engine. I have had this for a couple years. I use it as wallpaper occasionally. Matt
  12. I went right before they closed and they had their Model Master paints 90% off. Got like 40-50 bottles for a dime a piece. BTW< I's on the southside of Indy just north of 465.
  13. That looks great!!! I'm going to be doing mine in two-tone blue with a tan interior.
  14. Here are a couple shots of an '08/'09 Lonestar/Rosenbauer Tanker that I took at the 2009 Fire Dept Instructor's Conference.
  15. Ken, I've seen one up close. It was a fire dept pumper/tanker and I liked even more after seeing it in person. It was a sharp looking rig.
  16. So far, it's been a really good kit to build. There are some parts of the instructions where parts are mislabeled and also show the assemblies backwards, but overall, I'd give it a 9-9.5 out of 10. I'm really looking forward to the 2 new truck kits they're coming out with this year.
