What happened to the vent windows?
  2. I agree with Steve... that's one of the best looking '40s cars ever. Hard to "improve" the original.
  3. Paint looks good, but why is the foil so rough? Especially along the trim above the side windows.
  4. I put it in the dehydrator overnight, then sprayed it with matte clear.
  5. Click on the WIP link in my first post here.
  6. Full-blown detailed WIP here if interested. The kit is pretty much out of the box except for a few minor details, like the scratchbuilt wooden storage/tool box, the drawers below the seat, the top straps, and a few other very minor details.
  7. Next stop... under glass! Sorry, no scratchbuilt balloon, though.
  8. It's not wax. It's clear acrylic. No wax involved.
  9. But at least the Sox have won the World Series in my lifetime!
  10. Did the photoetched grille mesh come with the kit?
  11. I think you need to get rid of the V8 logo...
  12. Good looking model of a good looking car. You can almost never go wrong with Torq Thrust wheels...I think they work on almost any car.
  13. What he said. Actually those missing chunks are so tiny you could probably get away with just sanding the edge of the frame smooth until the missing areas "disappear," and you would still have enough plastic area to glue the windshield to.
  14. I'm not a Cubs fan (White Sox are my team), but living in the Chicago area, it is nice to see the Cubs made it back to the World Series (finally!). But they are choking big time... too many young players that are too anxious to make something happen means too many swings at pitches waaaaaaay out of the strike zone. They're trying too hard, trying to be the hero, and now they're in a spot where they have to win the next three in a row... or it's all over. The odds are against them. I doubt they can beat Cleveland three games straight, especially with the last two being in Cleveland. Oh well, as the saying here goes... "wait until next year."
  15. Won't the starlets need light to fix their makeup?
  16. I agree 100%. The white/gold is pretty cheesy looking, while the black/gold is pretty classy and timeless looking without the "in yer face" of the white/gold look.
  17. You could have saved yourself a lot of work and just given it a coat of flat clear to hide the shine instead of stripping it all off and starting over.
  18. The interior looks very plush! I like the headliner, too. Maybe you already have this in mind, but what would be cool is a pair of courtesy/reading lamps mounted on each interior side wall above and ahead of the rear seat.
  19. Wow. Hearing about all the problems you guys are having with PB is weird. I've been on it for years and have never had a problem. I can't believe I've just been lucky all of these years.
