  1. Also note that this kit has the convertible interior bucket instead of the correct hardtop interior. You can tell by the dog legs on the rear door panels.
  2. Yup, you got me Monte. I signed up on this forum 4 years ago just to defend Slant because I knew that this was going happen 2 years before this build ever started. I just can't put anything past you. As to the rules from Casey that you've quoted it seems that every builder has broken the first one. The shortest amount of time that anyone has had the Torino was Andrew who did the prepping of the parts. Others have had their parts of the build range from 6 months to 17 months. At that rate Slant has hardly had the Torino an unreasonable amount of time, especially considering he's been unable to work on it for part of that time. It could be argued that maybe after his accident he could have asked that someone else take over and finish the build for him but that is his call not mine or yours. Once Slant did receive the project he was making regular posts updating his progress right up until he had his accident. I'm sure when he's ready he will post here and address all of this himself. Maybe part of the reason he hasn't taken the time to respond is because of what has been said in the last couple weeks. Let's just sit back and see how this plays out, I'm willing to wager that the ones raising a fuss over this are going to be sorely disappointed when they are proven wrong. Jim
  3. 25% ??....That's like what, $50....sorry, I was never good at math.
  4. I just spent some time reading through all 18 pages of this thread trying to figure out what has gone wrong and I'm coming up with nothing. No where have I ever seen anyone state that they were unable to complete their part of the build and there has never been any kind of allotted time limits anywhere. If there were any I think they had already been violated by a few others before Slant. And for the life of me I'm still trying to figure out what Monte has to do with any of this, he was never one of the builders involved in this project, he just showed up with his pitchfork and torches to complain about something I guess. There seems to be a lot of that on these forums. Slant has been part of this forum longer than most anyone else involved in this build and I doubt he's trying to take advantage of the situation or pull something over on you guys. The accident he had a few months ago probably has prevented him from building for a while. I can't imagine how long it would take me to get back to building after having an injury like that. Stay calm and build on, I'm sure it will all get resolved. Jim
  5. This is just my opinion, so take it for what it's worth. The body looks good to me, at least they got the curve of the windshield right which Lindberg didn't do on their 64 Dodge and Plymouth kits. The interior also looks good to me. However, the chassis (at least the floor pan) and the engine look "clunky", like they were lifted from the just so-so Polar Lights 65 Dodge Coronet kit. Maybe a cut above the old MPC Mopar chassis' and engines, but far from the level of detail that Revell has given us in their 67 Dodge and Plymouth kits or Revell's 68/69 Charger chassis' and engines. After the Hudson and the Chrysler 55/56 300's these 2nd round test shots kind of fall flat for me. Mobius has raised the bar with their first few automotive kits, this looks like they are coming back down to earth. Maybe I'm just expecting too much. I'm sure I will get one as soon as its released, but if what I'm seeing is what I get in my hands I doubt I'll be buying multiples of this kit even though I like the subject. Spend those 2 cents anyway you see fit.
  6. Gratest song ever: Rush, Working Man.
  7. 57 Chevy bike???.....Yawn, check this out.... http://www.thecoolhunter.net/article/detail/1766/1930-art-deco-henderson
  8. Good thing you posted the video link, Martinsfan5 would NEVER have believed that Revell would have a kit out before the actual car hits the streets otherwise.
  9. Very cool Buick Charlie. Can't wait to see this one finished.
  10. Hello everyone. I've been away for a while but I did manage to get some building done while I was gone. I finally got the Cutlass back from the painters, it took them several attempts to get my vision for this car right but I think it was worth it. I think its my best paint job so far, it needs to be polished out in a few spots. The sides were like glass, in the thick of a forest without a road.......oops, sorry, must have been hypnotized. I wonder if anyone will get that reference ? Anyway, I figure if I'm going to show up to a gunfight with a knife I might as well look good.
  11. Let's see, if Tamyia can make correct model kits AND food decorations why don't we all petition Wilton to see if they can tool up a correct 90 Mustang LX ? Sorry, someone HAD to say it.
  12. Here is a look at where I'm at after some painting.
  13. Cutlass update. Interior is almost finished. Just need to add dash decals and glue everything together. Tonight I flocked the floor and lower door panels. One problem I did notice was with the door panel decals. They were a little bit short to cover the whole area they are supposed to cover. The passenger side decal also has the same cut out for the mirror adjusters as the drivers decal. Luckily Revell includes 2 center consoles (for automatic and 4 speed trans) and the extra decal film can be trimmed to cover up the area that should have been covered in the first place.
  14. Its always good to hear about great customer service. What is even better is to hear that Lindberg is still a functioning company. They haven't made any new kit announcements in a long time, not even any news of reissues. Oh, and GO Brad !!!!..........even if he is in a Ford now.
  15. I did some work on the Cutlass this week, here is a mock up of where I'm at. There will be a few surprises I still have to work on.
  16. Uhh, yeah. I'm still not on it. Must be that pesky "save" thing rearing its ugly head again.
  17. Why am I still not on the entry list ? I posted my 72 Cutlass back on page 9.
  18. Very nice build Donn. Maybe I'm missing something or don't understand. Why is Dr Cranky posting your builds if you're a member here ? It seems like you could cut out the middle man and post yourself.
  19. I'll be here all week.........try the Veal..........and don't forget to tip your waitress.......
  20. OK, I found a suitable kit for this years Cannonball, although I feel like I'm bringing a knife to a gun fight (see what I did there ??)
  21. I'm thinking I might have to try one of these CBP's, this one looks like a good one to get in on. I'm still thinking of what to build though.
  22. "What does Revell have up their sleeves ?" Probably their arms.........I'll be here all week.
