  1. But...it's...showroom stock! I didn't know you did those!!! Kidding aside, what a GREAT looking '68. I hope to see it in person some time. Very cool!
  2. Jeff, if you want to do the finish work (It's actually a little further along than the photo) I'll send it in. It doesn't seem like I'm ever going to get to it, especially with this Chevelle project.
  3. I'm scratchbuilding the grille currently. The horizontal bars stick out a bit further than the vertical bars, so nothing I had would work. Also, this way we get the correct amount of squares. Missing Link has been a huge help and supporter of this project.
  4. I can't see a picture, but is this what you're looking for?
  5. I had one of the "glob of resin" beds...I just threw it away. I don't know if this is the same caster the thread concerns, but I bought five beds off an individual (he can reveal himself if he chooses). The beds were inexpensive, perfectly servicable, mostly accurate (some liberties were taken with the inner bed floor and wheel wells, but not to an objectionable degree). You get a one piece bed with tailgate molded in (detail on both sides of tailgate), bed floor with wheel wells, and tailllights (regular resin, not red). I'm not at my own computer at the moment, so I can't post images yet. I don't know if this caster wants to do just beds or not, so I won't reveal his name, but he might want to consider doing so, as I think this ( and well done standard wheelbase '73- '79 Ford bed sides) are a market begging for a product. If anyone is interested, here's how I did mine : http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v625/Repstock/Ford%20pickup%20standard%20wheelbase%20bed/
  6. Sorry, everyone! I have the door panels from Magnum. I really need to check back more often. As Kevin said, I'm waiting on a few parts. All is proceeding smoothly.
  7. Does it say anywhere on their website what forms of payment they accept?
  8. This will be great! I really like the '70s cars...the more the better!
  9. Thank you for keeping the whole thread together. If I were making this just for myself, I would have put it in the OTW section. In this case, the interested parties are probably here. Now that I think about it, that's pretty much what you said, isn't it?
  10. Further progress. I have other parts done as well, but this is the biggie.
  11. The wheel openings have been established. Next, the flares will be added. The model is slightly warped, so the driver's side view has the front end raised up a bit.
  12. Once the Chevelle (both SS and regular) and Laguna versions of the 1973 car are finished, it would be logical to then do a 1974 car. I can't give you a timeline on this, but that's the plan. I may even do a 1977 car much later, as there was one in my parents' driveway years ago.
  13. The idea is over time to add different noses and interiors to this basic kit. Something had to be first, and since the kit i was given was supposed to represent a 1973 model Chevelle, that's what I've started with. I was nearly finished with my own 1973 Laguna, but I hadn't changed the greenhouse and I'm not real satisfied with it. It will probably donate it's Laguna nose to a future version of this model. The resin company casting this is well known, and has high quality.
  14. This model is going to be cast in resin. This is a continuation of the 1974 Chevelle thread in the RESIN section. I promised progress reports. I have added the greenhouse of the 1975 Olds to the Chevelle body. This rids us of the chopped racing top and the malformed windshield area typical of the Chevelle/Laguna racing models. Also shown is the fit of the Olds chassis, which I plan to use for ease of molding. The model will feature an opening hood with some underhood detail. More pictures as I progress.
  15. I KNEW I was forgetting something. I need to get one of those...
  16. Some of these years may be a little off, but... Modelhaus, 1975 Impala 4 door Missing Link, 1975 Plymouth 4 door Missing Link, 1978 Ford 4 door Modelhaus, 1972 Ford 4 door AMT, 1970 Ford 4 door (both Galaxie and LTD) MPC, 1977 Plymouth 4 door Not '70s, but: JoHan, 1968 Plymouth 4 door There's probably more, but these spring to mind.
  17. That side sculpting would be very hard to duplicate. It would be very cool, though.
  18. Kevin has sent me the parts, so this project is underway. What he's given me is a '73 car, so it will be a 1973 Chevelle. We can possibly base other models on this one. Kevin, thanks for sending me a light colored Olds, that will be a big help. Neither body has any warp, so that will help as well. I've got a pretty good idea where I'll make my cuts, so I'll have some progress soon. Kevin, at some point I'll need the Monte Carlo door panels, as they are the best starting point for the Chevelle. I'm doing the body first, so what kind of interior pattern would you all like to have? Did the Chevelle have the bucket seat option? I'll post pics as progress is made...
  19. Just thought you Chevelle lovers would want to know that I've agreed to master a 1973 Chevelle for Kevin. He's got all the raw material I need to do it. If I have questions for you experts, I will post them here. I don't have access to a real Chevelle, so I'll have to use lots of pictures and ask questions. Right now what I could use are pictures of the wheel well openings taken directly from the side, at about the height of the center of the wheel. This will minimize photographic distortion. Front to back measurements of the wheel wells won't hurt, either. If any of you have a real Chevelle, here's your chance to contribute. I'm not saying I won't work on anything else while I'm doing this, but I'll make sure you don't have to wait a year for it. If we all work together, this will be really cool! -Tom
  20. I've been adding little details. I hope to get the body painted this weekend. I'm doing a few projects at once, so progress has slowed.
  21. su-WEET! Very well done, very convincing! I'd like to see it in person!
