  1. Thanks guys! To be honest, part of the problem I have on projects like this, is I want them more detailed then my mechanical knowledge and finger function will always allow, so often it take me what seems like ages to fabricate a piece. LOL I want it to look realistic, but plead guilty to liking cars far more than I would ever consider myself a mechanic, so often I have to refer to 1:1 vehicles or the web etc, to see how something should be put together or function. For example, on this one, I am already struggling with how I will go about fabricating the floor after the body is dropped over the frame.
  2. OK, after finishing up some other stuff, I am back at this one. I took a parts box front end, and cut the spring from the top, and re-mounnted to the back of the axle, also added some bolt head detail. Scratched up a front spring hanger, still needs top drilled for bolt heads Front wheels an online friend traded me, not sure the kit source but they were molded in green. And, the likely rear rims. I am about 92.3% sure these will be the ones, one other possible option, but since this is using a few pieces and decals from the Red Baron, I am also borrowing the name somewhat as well, with the "Ford Baron". Even tho the Red Baron kit is 1/24, these rim fit into the AMT pie-crust slicks.
  3. I take it more printer plate used here? You make a row of these first then cut, or cut, then shape/drill?
  4. Looks great, I would like to see some more close up shots of the motor and interior
  5. Flour treatment? Also, this is like the 2nd or 3rd time in the last couple days someone has mentioned using printing plate. Where you picking that up?
  6. Chris, dude, you are going to have to PM with a little more detail on the brick painting/staining technique you used. That just looks fantastic!
  7. Personally, I think I would go here to images.google.com, type in pirate map (link below to make it easier http://images.google.com/search?num=10&hl=en&site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1133&bih=524&q=pirate+map&oq=pirate+map&gs_l=img.3..0l10.299035.301098.0.301801.10.9.0.0.0.0.406.1048.0j1j2j0j1.4.0...0.0...1ac.1.RmzH-sx0EZo and get an image or two, and make decals. I say personally because I can not write my own name and have it look decent. here are a couple of examples
  8. nice quick build indeed sir
  9. I, like a few others, did not see the vision as you first described it, but it is really coming to life! I like it a lot
  10. Looks great! I really like your work, but I am also impressed by how quick you can get these done. How do you fit the build time in with your work schedule?
  11. Looks great! Very nice work on the enterior for sure!
  12. as always, good looking stuff. Where do you get the tiny watch parts? All the lots i always see are basically just the gears. I would like to land some of those bits like you use for the suspension and linkage.
  13. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing the rear work. Very cool
  14. Thanks Jason and everyone else for all of the positive feedback! While I would love to say the idea was mine alone, I must admit that I was inspired by a sketch that I saw in Traditional Rod and Kulture mag. Here is the sketch by Zombie below. My build is not meant to be an exact replica, and does vary in several ways. Also, I tied this build in with an online Three-N-one build theme where you were using major kit parts from at least three different kits, thus the name C-N-Things, as in the C-cab and other things. Those other things in this case being 29 fenders and bed where I think the sketch below uses 32 fenders etc. I also had the 32 grill and the motor and suspension mostly from the Ala Kart kit. Still, I hope you all enjoy it.
  15. LOL, tell you what... consider it in my will to you! I really am glad you like it man.
  16. I am not sure I could ever make money doing that, simply because I am not sure I could part with the models. Maybe if I was pulling down that kind of coin on a consistant basis, well... Almost every model I built and parted with, I regret. Most I have made for folks I know, like my father, but even those I miss but at least I know where they are. The worst was when I moved from Indiana to Phoenix, as one of the boxes that had my childhood builds did not survive the journey to my current location. It makes me sick sometimes, but from my childhood I only have a handful.
