  1. Not entirely true, but close. The '32 five window body has a completely different firewall that matches the curvature of the five window body, but not the roadster or three window bodies. Go figure. The nineties '32 three window and roadster kits share the same firewall. You'll find that the mid-nineties '32 roadster body, in terms of cowl proportion and dimension(s), is very close to the Rat Roaster body, and the RR firewall is a fairly decent fit on the older '32 roadster body. Does all that make sense?
  2. Bingo! Lots of pissing and moaning about this, that and the other, as regards the Rat Roaster kit. The Rat Roaster isn't perfect. We know that. It could be better. We know that too. Will Revell sell a bunch of the kit? No doubt. They (Revell) had to start somewhere, and I'll bet that the proceeds from the sale of the RR will bring us sometning "more better". BTW, I know Ed Sexton on a professional (business) basis. Fairly well. He's paying attention to the various model forums, as is Roger Harney. They do what they can do, given the amount of money they have to invest in new tooling. More often than not, they do an excellent job, as witnessed by their recent '57 Ford, '50 Olds, and '62 Corvette kits. All released in the past four months. No plastic kit is EVER perfect, and they know that.
  3. This big. Pic was taken just after I built it. You should see it now. I'm back to having about one square foot of work space. Bigger is not always better. BTW, all those boxes scattered about are now either gone or organized. The basement is cleaner now, minus that clutter.
  4. If you have a Revell Bantam body, build it up into something cool. Might as well. I built that Bantam in about '91 or so, and I had (have) no issue with using hard to find stuff. Build 'em all! I dig all of the builds you posted above!
  5. That's always been somewhat of an issue, but an easy fix. I added some material to the lower body side in this so-so pic...
  6. Here's another, based on Revell's Bantam parts pack body and a bunch of parts box items. Also ancient...
  7. My ancient '29 on '32 rails, built long before Revell's series of mid-nineties Deuce kits were released.
  8. VERY original, not to mention downright neat!
  9. This will be a killer kit, and I'd expect Revell to sell a BUNCH! I'll certainly be getting a few, and I'm looking forward to it.
  10. AMT's '32 Ford Phaeton was out sometime in 1969. I remember buying one in a hobby shop in Altoona, PA. I'm sure it was 1969, and most of the ones I've seen were molded in brown plastic. However, I do have one molded in yellow, although many people don't believe it was ever offered in yellow. It was. I have one.
  11. I wouldn't hold my breath, but you never know. I can see Revell doing a full fendered '32 roadster at some point, along with a '32 pickup. I'm sure they have other subjects in mind away from the 1932 genre. Just my guess. I'd rather see them do a line of Model A street rod kits, which has been a hot topic in the 1:1 street rod world for more than a few years. Again, I'm not holding MY breath on that wish either.
  12. Trust me on this. The kit will not be out in February. No way, no chance, no how. Won't happen. As a matter of fact, you all can bet me on this. Five bucks, first better! Any bets? Line 'em up!
  13. Has anyone mounted the new Rat Roaster body on the old tool '32 frame? The bodies look pretty similar, along with the wheel well inserts.
