Thanks Jason, your builds are always off the chain. You should check out Modelhaus, they make a WWW, part # 110c, thats a little shorter than most, without being too short and looking underscale for a 50s car. They might just do the trick.

As a second attempt (and 6th build) at a street sweeping Impala Im starting off with Lindburg's 61 Impala SS 409. Im keeping most all the trim on this one, stock bumpers and grills, but getting rid of the door handles, mirrors, and emblems. Getting this one to lay rocker wasnt too hard, just needed to z the front of the frame, flip the spindles and notch a bit to tuck up the exhaust. Had to cut the crossmember in half to bring the motor back in line and clearance the wheel tubs for the upper control arms.

Rear Im keeping simple as I would on a 1:1, keep it stock, and use bags. Gonna need a new track bar though, and actually attach it. First time using Alcad, came out pretty good!

Stanced perfectly. Just the right offset, negative camber, and killer 3 spokes.

Oh my goodness, insert an swear word here! I wasn't too sure about that grille nor the rear end treament. But seeing the whole project, WOW!! Freakin fantastic, I Love it. Way to go Albie!
Thanks Glenn and Sam. To be honest Id probably use a different taillight and tube the front grill for a little continuity. Are Edsel grills odd as taillights?!? LOL
Thanks for the props everyone, this site is very motivating!

Like the artillery wheels, nice on a shoebox. Cool hot rod stance too.

Thanks guys! Means alot. Lots of firsts with this kit. First time using the AB, first time with 2 part clear (waited too long to sand and was left with slight orange peel and micro trash..ughh), first full foil, first channel job, etc. Being my 5th serious build, it has its mistakes, and some things Id do different, but hey, thats what the next kit is for.

One of my favorite times in kustom history is probably the Watson era, mid 60's coupes, a little shaving, healthy slam, and candy paint is a winning combo in my opinion. Heres my take on a 64 Impala. Shaved everything except the mohawk chrome strips on the hood and trunk, deleted wing windows, egg crate grill, rear roll pan with tube insert. Added some Bellflower tips and a simple panel paint job.

The General shouda built this back in the day. No dis to the '59 (one of my faves) but it should have started in 55. Good job!
