  1. Well, George found my parts. Apparently, they got "misplaced" prior to him sending his big order to the chrome shop, therefore, they never got chromed. I told to send my "expletive" parts back; and that I did not want to wait how ever many more months for him to have them chromed. He asked me how much money I had sent with my order so that he could reimburse me. Long story short, I got my un-chromed back in the mail today with MOST of the money that I had sent him. It looks like he deducted the amount that I sent him for shipping.... Got that? The jack-off held my parts for 7 months, gave me excuse after excuse, then he made me pay to send my un-chromed parts back. THEN on top of that, he asked me to send the junk resin parts back to him that he sent me as replacements for my parts while they were still "misplaced", AND he expects me to pay to send those parts back. F@#% THAT A-HOLE!
  2. Thanks for the heads-up. I contacted the guy from the Spotlight forum.
  3. Seven months, six phone calls, numerous excuses.... I finally got re-chromed parts from George today. The only problem is that they aren't the vintage Johan and MPC parts that I sent off to be related. They are cheap ass resin junk with a half ass plating job. I called George for an explanation. He said that my parts got misplaced and never made it to the plater. He found the parts that I sent him in a baggie, (as I sent them to him); but he knew that I was in a hurry to get my parts back; and figured that I wouldn't want to wait for my actual parts to be plated.... so he sent me resin parts out of his own stash. I asked him to kindly send my un-plated parts back to me with my refund. He said that he would get them back to me before the weekend. FYI, think twice before you use this guy.
  4. Has anyone had any parts re-chromed by George Hernandez out of Allenpark, Michigan? I sent 5 bumpers and 8 wheels to him back in March. Now, 6 months later and several phone calls, all I have is excuses. First, the chrome shop was shut down due to Covid. Then a few months later, they were back in business, (I can give him a pass on that one). Two months ago, he had my parts in his hand and was sending them out the following weekend. I told him what I had and he told me that he was looking right at them. Then a month ago, he told me that the shop called and told him that everything was ready for him to pick up. He told me that he would send them out that weekend. Tonight, same story. I am a little concerned because some of the parts are from the original Johan '70 Roadrunner and will be difficult, (if not impossible) to replace. Has anyone else dealt with this guy?
  5. Does anyone have the complete 340 engine from the Monogram '70 Challenger T/A? I have lots to trade.
  6. The '65 Plymouth Golden Commandos altered wheelbase Plymouth from Moebius comes with the hump that needs to be added to the transmission tunnel if you are making a 4 speed car. I can use one for another project if someone is building an automatic equipped car, (like the Golden Commandos). I have lots to trade.
  7. I am looking to trade the Moebius Hemi automatic from the Golden Commando '65 Plymouth for a Hemi 4 speed from the Moebius Melrose Missile or California Flash '65 Plymouths. Can anyone help?
  8. This '55 Chevy was primed with Tamiya Surface Primer, painted with Testors Model Master Custom Lacquer base/clear paint, then cleared with Testors Extreme Lacquer Wet Look Clear. The paint/primer seems very brittle and doesn't seem to have stuck to the plastic very well. While gently trying to scrape the paint from where the head light bezels will get glued in, bigger chips of paint/primer just flaked right off. Does anyone have any opinion as to why this happened? Is it a compatibility issue with Tamiya primer and Testors paint? The body was sanded with 600 grit, and washed with soap and water prior to primer.
  9. Going for the early '60's mild custom look. Shaved hood, door handles, and deck lid, Olds hub caps, and a small block with three deuces. Now begins the sanding and polishing.
  10. Infinitely better quality than the actual car that it was based on. I had one. It was easy to work on, which was nice, because it always needed worked on. .
  11. I am looking for a set of Weld Pro Star wheels in 1 /24 scale. The wheels from the '90's Mustang Drag Car look great, however they are a little too small for the car that they are going on, (Revell '71 GTX). Can anyone tell me if anyone has made these wheels in 1/24 scale?
  12. Casey, thanks for the Datsuns.
  13. Right back at cha Impalow / Eric. thanks for the Mustang
  14. My biggest issue is that the whloe interior is wrong. The real Sox & Martin car wasn't even a GTX. It was an RO23 Hemi Belvedere.
  15. Bill, I am going to have to beg to differ with you. I am no expert, however the '70 Coronet R/T / Superbee has been my #1 favorite car since I saw my first one at the age of ten or so. I own a 1 of 97 '70 Coronet R/T Six Pack - Four Speed - Dana car. I have examined countless examples of these cars for years and talked to more enthusiasts of these cars that I can count. I have seen several cars with the red grill trim, (although they are rare). I remember a particular rusted out piece of junk '70 Coronet 500 in my neighborhood as early as 1980 or so. This car was a tired old daily driver/beater. Not a restoration. It definitely had the red trim. I remember how sweet I thought it looked against the B5 blue paint. The consensus among '70 Coronet guys is that some cars had it, and some cars didn't; and it has nothing to do with the car having a Hemi, or being a Coronet 500, R/T, or Super Bee. It was probably an earlier production thing that got changed once production got under way; but they definitely made them and put them on cars, (albeit not many). The same goes for the center section of the bumper. All were chrome, but some had a stamped cover over the chrome that was painted body color. Again, it was a random thing that was not model specific. Regarding the Hemi convertible in this thread... usually when guys restore a car of that caliber, they make sure that ALL of the details are correct.
  16. Wow, it took a show that ended like 20 years ago to make this thread interesting..... "but are you still master of your domain?"
  17. I actuaully have two of them that I am thinking of throwing on Ebay, pocketing the money, and waiting for Revell to re-release it. But then with my luck I will spend the money, and they wont re-release the kit.... Kind of like years ago when AMT announced that they were going to re-issue the '69 Coronet R/T. I had two nice builers of the original MPC version. I sold them on Ebay for about $100.00 each; and waited for the re-issue to build. As we all know, the re-issue never came.
  18. Thanks for all of the feedback guys. I will get some pics of the car this weekend and post them.
