  1. Here are a couple from Dell,MT early 2006,it was -13 outside that morning!.............................................Mark
  2. Thanks Casey,I had completely forgotten about this kit! has this been re-released? I could have sworn I've seen this in 1980's AMT packaging?.........................................Mark
  3. The Hotwheels "Hot-heap" was a childhood favorite of mine, can anyone suggest a kit to base a model of it on?.........................................Mark
  4. I too would sure love to see the 4070 re-relased! one of my very favorite kits as a kid,..........................................Mark
  5. Spokes are still pretty common in the northeast on vocational trucks and kind of a tradition. They are hard to keep alighned, and balanced properly...................................................Mark
  6. Sean,i really like the contrast between these two colors,if this were my build,i think all I'd do would be to paint the fuel tanks frame color, silver on the battery box and maybe trim the lock rings/hubs on the steer axle wheels in the frames color.Personally, I might be inclined to do the "safety striped" front bumber on this one too? All you need now is a pair of flatbeds with a load of hay! Truck sure has the "Old School" vibe I like!............................................Mark
  7. These were taken right behind the "HOLLYWOOD" sign in Los Angeles.........................Mark
  8. Some very nice shots,i too like to take pics while on the road, some sunsets from the west coast of Florida, sunrise beside I-90 in Rocker,MT.................................Mark
  9. I'm with cappy! I'm diggin' the R-685 with sleeper, sure do-able in kit form, the Cruiseliner is also sharp,Dave over at AITM has the upadated V-8 style grille in resin as well......................................Mark
  10. I am going to try decanted Krylon gloss Burgundy for the base color,Krylon gloss Antique Ivory for the trim. The box art colors really appeal to me as well!.............................Mark
  11. Terry, that is indeed true,i painted the 1:1 truck I posted earlier, and there is no mistaking it was a C.O.E cab adapted to the conventional postion, really "cobbled together" in my opinion...here are a few for comparison, you can really see the C.O.E cab in these photos..........................Mark
  12. Very nice! personally I am a big fan of "real" looking truck models/old-school and this one surely fits that bill. The rain-caps are a nice touch too! a must on a Detroit! Fit and finish on this truck is first rate,i like it! thanks for posting...................Mark
  13. Sean,i did the behind the bunk stacks on a Western-Star years ago (long before digital cameras Lol!) I found 10-2 wire separated is about the right size, bends pretty easy seems to hold its shape faily well too to form you exaust piping. IIRD I used "bendy straws" for the elbows, wish I had taken more pictures back then!. BTW,playing around with your White-Freightliner template, been a good help to me,i'll post up some pics when there's something worthwhile progress-wise. I been butchering up a scrap cab I got from another member here, for practice, also lowering the headlights etc...................Mark
  14. Nice work! that trailer is very realistic,i have ordered some of the "tile" shaped plastic, gonna try my hand at a set of quilted doors myself..............................Mark
  15. Guess I will need to pick-up one of the snappers for the "yeller engine" need a Cat for an up-coming project..................................Mark
  16. Looks good Sean! I really like the old-school looking trucks best! a little late to the game (as usual) but I was going to recommend the KW sleeper for this build. Are you going to do the stacks/exaust behind the bunk as in the brochure pic? I have thought of a similar project in my head, maybe "doll-up" the DR kit with aluminum wheels, maybe a KW "Seminole" style paint job? most built-up DR's seem to be built as strictly work trucks,i kinda want to do an O/O style kit when I get around to it!........................................Mark
  17. I've never seen mention of an aftermarket RB2 transkit,I did however drive a "real" one for a short time early on in my career (what a turd!) was REALLY glad to get back in my R-Model Lol!....................Mark
  18. Need to build one like this for an upcoming project!................................Mark
  19. My 2001 CX-613 100th anniversary edition,bought new and now has a little over a million miles on it!..............................................Mark
  20. The "white thing" under the trailer is indeed a loading ramp, more commonly called a "walk-board" by movers,i was leased to Atlas Van Lines for 23 years. The trailer pictured is an older model, newer moving van ramp carriers are now fully enclosed, the underhang under the trailer is commonly called a "belly-box" used for storage of the ramp, plywood, decking bars, extra equipment,etc............................Mark
  21. Very nice execution of what can be a difficult kit! paint looks great,a nice clean build for sure! where did the Cat engine come from?.............................Mark
  22. Mack offered a "severe service" closed cab with either sliding doors or leather/canvas curtains on most of it's earliest AC an AK models, mostly as shelter from regional bad weather,i have some more photos, which I will post as soon as I can find them,is this the type cab you mentioned?........................Mark
  23. This is a neat little kit, with a little extra time and detailing,it builds into a very presentable truck in my opinion. The Revell Kenworths from the same era are also nice with time and effort...............................Mark
  24. Tamiya makes (in my opinion) the best masking tape for modeling, try it,bet you'll like it!...............................Mark
  25. That Western Star would be a great start for the "Outlaw" from the old eighties movie "Steel Cowboy"...........................Mark
