HI,everyone!!😄 this is my 1/24 takara scope dog "votoms scope dog" is a 80's Japanese sci-fi animation..remind me my childhood memories.. this kit first release at 1983..then re-release at 1997..I got a one at that time.. build this kit almost 20 years ago..never paint it until now...😅 I am glad I finally finished it.. hope you like it.. and here is the painting video if you are interested..🙂

The Giulia may be the iconic Alfa Romeo, built from 1962 up to 1977 in the company's best of times - its derivatives are all classics themselves (4 cyl. engines with 1300 and 1600 ccm delivered between 87 and 112 hp, in its final years a small number got a 1800 cc Perkins diesel engine - but only for Italy - which brought 50 hp but was no success). From the mid-70's Alfa Romeo was on a steady decline which resulted in the FIAT takeover in 1986. Alfa Romeo revived the old name: 2015 a new Giulia was presented, again with RWD, but with engines from 136 up to 210 hp (2200 cc, Diesel, 4 cyl. turbo) and 200 up to 280 hp (2000 cc, 4 cyl., turbo, Gasoline) - the strongest versions had 4WD. Production started in 2016. To top all this, the Quadrifoglio got the 2,9 ltr. Biturbo V6 engine with 510 hp (the GTA version even 540 hp) with RWD only. Interesting comparison between the old and the new - 50 years: Ixo made a light-blue 1965 Giulia Super in the Italian Quattroruote newsstand series for Leo Models (later reissued in red, white and dark red) - Bburago released the modern counterpart in deep metallic red and dark metallic blue: Note: Back in 1965, outside rearview mirrors were not yet mandatory in Italy !

My latest build for a friend from work, and BMW, slot car enthusiast. Instructions called for Championship white, but we opted for the Racing white by Tamiya. Clearcoated with Mr Color Gloss aerosol and light sanding, followed by polished. A bit worried about polishing down to the decals, so not as smooth as it could be. Finished per instructions. I wished kit manufacturers would give the sunshade visor decals as only the logos and let the builder paint the background. Next time I will paint a white base before the decal. One of Giorgietto Giugiaro's design masterpieces when working for Bertone is the Giulia Sprint GT from 1963 - soon other variations followed. Ixo made some nice 1/24 diecast models which were issued under different names such as Leo models (Quattroruote), Metro/Fabbri, Hachette in different series and colors: The 1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia GT 1300 junior was first released in the Quattroruote series (rosso Alfa = red, best details), then in the Alfa Centenario collection (Giallo ochra = mustard yellow) and finally in the 1/24 Auto Vintage de luxe collection (bianco spino = white) . Also in the Alfa Romeo Centenario Collection the legendary 1965 Giulia Sprint 1600 GTA was offered in Rosso Corsa (with all the correct details - wheels, tires, interior, grille and scudetto): With the additon of a few decals you can easily turn this one into a period-correct racecar: Everything opens, the details are very well done - excellent 1/24 models of a truly Alfa Romeo icon = must haves for all fans of the marque !

My latest completion. These Revell 1/24 kits are kind of finicky, small attachment points for the wings being the toughest part, but I really like doing the decals. Lots of setting solution and some hair dryer heat got them snugged down well. This is the car driven by David Coulthard, his teammate was the #9 of Mika Hakkinen. Coulthard won the first race of the season in Australia and I think Hakkinen won in Spain that year also. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

My second recent car model build for a number of years and finding a few challenges with gloss finish and clear parts. A small change to the kit with the removal of the side windows. I was impressed with the kit quality and read some reviews before purchasing. Thank you for looking and any comments and suggestions are welcome.

I started this one near the beginning of Covid19 lockdowns as a quicky (laugh). This was finished recently, and I've been waiting for perfect dry overcast day to photograph it. You can see the build thread Here Here are some of the things I learned along the way... 1. This was my first time using a Tamiya TS aerosol. The paint is lovely, but I did not find it as tough as others. I did not clear coat over the top, but if I had it would not have been an issue. The paint finished seemed to pick up micro scratches very easily during the final stages of the build. 2. All the extra work put into modifying the interior door trim was mostly wasted. You can barely see it and it held up progress a lot. 3. This kit has a lot of trim to add to the body. It’s extremely fiddly and drained the fun out of the build towards the end. If I were building it again, I may be tempted to build as a modded car without the trim, or actually fit the trim before paint and then apply foil afterwards. 4. Although many have had good results with embossing powder for carpet, it did not agree with me. I will be using flocking from now on. 5. The biggest hold-up with this project was figuring out how to do the front and rear window trim. They should be chrome trim and black rubber seals (like most cars of this period). I just could not figure out how to replicate this in an easy way. I could foil it and it would all be chrome, or I could paint it and it would all be black. In the end I used the kit supplied decals, which are okay, but they are silver/black not chrome/black. I’m constantly trying to learn, so your comments, criticisms and advice are welcome. Here is the end result. I hope you like it. Thanks for looking. Overall this kit is a joy. Despite the fiddly bits, things like the self-adhesive chrome badges and multi-piece tail-lights make this kit stand out. You won't be surprised to know that I have now purchased the Turbo version of this kit and it is waiting in my stash for a future build.

Let's start a new project. First I tried to find some photos for example colors of this car. While searching on the internet I discovered the original car which was the example of the Heller-kit. It is part of a vehicle collection at a museum near Lyon in France. Yesterday I wrote to the museum in order to get more information and any photos of the car and its details (engine, interior etc). I'm curious if I'll get an answer. Meanwhile I try to mix the correct color for bodywork. A dark saphir-blue airbrush ink as basic making some brighter with white and silver. A follwing test will show it...

I got this kit a few years ago. The box have been opened, some parts have already been mounted and painted, but in bad conditions. Some parts were broken. What can i do with it? Now I considered to use this kit as my first attempt to create an aged and used model. Not rusty, not dirty, but with a touch of patina. Here is my result. I believe, in a few components it was successful (engine, exhaust, drivetrain). The bodywork could be better. Well, it will find its place in the show case. I built the same model a few years ago. Here a pic of it to compare. Comments and criticism are welcome.

Something different. New release from DDA collectibles. Supposedly going to be released as a plastic kit Q1 next year. 1:24 Scale.

Unfortunately I can´t open the front mask to show you the engine. Maybe something is too tight and I´m afraid to break some parts.

This Heller-kit of an Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 I bought many years ago. It was very down-priced because it was already started. Then I got another kit of the same kind. So the started kit kept unused in the cabinet. Now I found it again. I thought, this is the opportunity to create my first attempt of an used, aged and weathered model car. I´ve never done that before.

From the Hachette 1/24 Mexican series (made by Ixo): a no-nonsense, plain utility vehicle with almost no chrome. I ordered this one because I sold off my amt kits. Cab/hood is metal, whereas the pickup bed and rear fenders are plastic - all painted a very dark green. As I knocked off the rearview mirror bracket on the passenger side, I decided to give it a little "Snake-Fu" treatment: I added some round mylar chrome foil to both mirrors, a small piece of aluminium tube for the exhaust pipe and 1961 Wyoming plates cut from a very old auto world license plate sheet (could be a "Cowboy Cadillac"/c. Terry Jessee) - in my imagination, a typical vehicle for rural America back in the day. At last, I needed a load and cut a cardboard box from a Verlinden sheet I bought 30 years ago.

From Wikipedia: The Ferrari 412 T2 was the car with which Ferrari competed in the 1995 Formula One World Championship. Designed by John Barnard and Gustav Brunner at Shalford in the United Kingdom, the car was launched at Maranello on the 6th February, 1995. Driven by Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger, this depicts Berger's car. Nice little kit, it does have an engine which will never be seen after gluing the body together. The only issue I have is with the tires, they are the soft, sticky plastic that attracts every mote of dirt within 6ft and will probably eventually eat the wheels. I put a couple of coats of primer and paint to hopefully forestall that, time will tell. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Made by Ixo, distributed by Hachette, this 1958 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller is from a British test series (therefore RHD), the same model was released in France in the regular series (with LHD) - cute ! The gap in the roof is true to the original !

Peugeot 203 P/U dated 1956 from the French Hachette series: the 4 dr. sedan was built between 1948 and 1960, and during this time several deviations were produced, among them the P/U. (Peugeot made also PU's of the following 403, 404 and 504 models)

Picked this kit out of the stash thinking it would be a fairly quick build. Resin kits, as a general rule don't have that many parts. They are a little fussy but this is not my trip around the block. Well........that was a month ago. Many problems later its finished. Paint is Tamiya TS17 gloss aluminium. I decided to paint the large blue area even though there was decal for this. Two shades of Mr Color mixed (#328 and 326) matched it spot on. Tamiya silvers are a little tricky to clear coat. TS13 clear has a habit of eating into the finish if you try and clear it too soon. 10 days I let it cure but it was still not enough. I cut the red and light blue strips away from the decal sheet and they needed to be laid down over clear. Luckily decals covered most of the errors in the silver paint. Needed to clear coat the graphic decals and even though I was very careful the last coat of clear wrinkled the decals in some areas. Several coats of X-22 buried the wrinkles but it took a couple of days to do so. The restored car resides in the Stuttgart museum and is very shiny so that is the look I was after anyway. So much for a quickie project but what a way to end the year. More comments in the picture captions and thanks for looking. Non steering wheels are a pet peeve of mine. Fisher resin kits are a fairly easy conversion. Don't usually add a tie rod and as you can see it required much carving to work properly. Rod was cut in half and the tube in the middle is used to adjust the toe. Finished model on its wheels. The six piece windshield wiper was no piece of cake. The sponser decals were not clearcoated....for a reason. Rear view has some nice detail. The " Martini Racing Team was cut from the decal sheet and had a blue background. Note how nicely it matched. My body warped outward while on the paint stand. Those two metal u-shaped clips not only hold the body to the chassis but correct the warp. This Mitsuwa 1/28molde of the same car was done a long time ago before the internet so no research existed. It also had to have the graphics painted as the kit decals were not going to make it. The red and light blue strips are vinyl tape. Its amazing how badly a company can get a model as you can see in this comparison. I had to wing it at the time. This model sits way back in the display case. couldn't resist taking a picture of the whole tribe of silver Martini models. Large 917 in the back is Auto Art diecast. !/24 version of the same car is a Fujimi. #9 Porsche is an Otaki and the #88 is a Tamiya.

Last night, the idea for this fade paint scheme popped into head. Just sprayed it minutes ago.

I wanted to do this one as a paint excercise when I aquired the new Tamiya LP line. So it is mopstly box stock. Color I chose was LP44 Metallic Orange. I added a coat of LP53 Clear Orange and finished with the clear LP9. Kit is quite rare as Nakamura did not do too many cars. This car was a concept car built in 1969 by Pininfarina on an Abarth 2000 Sport Spider SE chassis. Car is powered by a 4 cyl engine but due to the extreme light weight of the car it was capable of 175mph. There was only one model built and it is currently in Japan on display in a museum. I only added a few extra details like those turn signals in front. Rear veiw shows the single exhaust from the rear mount 4cly engine. I understand it was quite loud. Rear glass had a nasty flaw in it and had to be replaced with sheet styrene. Scorpion and script were from the kit decals but the stripes are vinyl tape. Surprisingly 50yr old decal came off the sheet. Rear deck hinges backwards and the entire windshield comes up on the real car. Car was supposed to be motorized so most of the interior is taken up by battery housing. Entire chassis is removable so at a later date I could add a real interior...but for now...I wanted it done.

Another die-cast from the "Alfa Romeo Centenary Collection" the Alfa Giulia TZ (later renamed TZ 1 - after the TZ 2 came out) - made by IXO. What if... Scuderia Filipinetti (Swiss racing team from 1962 - 1973) had bought a TZ in 1963 and had taken part in the 1963 Tour de France de l'Automobile? It probably would have looked like this: red with their typical white stripe, additional Marchal lights and a fine steel tube for the exhaust were added, the race numbers came from the winning Ferrari 250 GTO (Colorado decals), Filipinetti decals from my spares. Here it is race-ready (fictitious):
