Scale I Build

  1. Hey, everyone!, This is my Fujimi Lamborghini Reventon build......obviously...lol, Even though its only a curbside, I will be detailing the interior to make it look like the real car, since things are missing, or not done right. I even have a technique that replicates Lamborghinis special leather called; Alcantara. I will also show how I take a one-piece engine, and still make it look convincingly real. Hope you enjoy!
  2. Hey, everyone!, i'm trying to see if I can get this VERY basic kit done in one month. I started it on March 1st, and I think I may be able to do it! My hardest challenge was to NOT fix everything, but pick and choose what I NEEDED to do. The interior tub was an embarracement. As you can see, all the white bits, are the things I needed to SB. The interior doors weren't even scribed!!!
  3. Ok first of all, I think to myself, you can't do another Red Ferrari... So I thought, maybe a cool cruiser... So I started doodling on the engine,... Mr. RandyD came thru with a couple awesome distributors from HRM Beauties So with the engine well on it's way, I started doing some research,.... (opposite of "plan your build, and build your plan"),...sorry Ace,..( where are you? ) Then I found her Now this, is going to require some modifications, but I love the story,... Guy walks into a Ferrari dealership.. Sales man says,.."What can I help you with?".." Guy says, "I want a 365 GTB/4 Daytona, in RED" Sales man.."No problem, gonna take a year to get it,...they're handmade, yanow? !"Guy says, "No problem, I'll wait for perfection" ...And a deal is struck... Car comes in in like half the time and sales man starts turning it into a Competizione ....say it with me( that's 6 syllables folks) So he can race it before handing it over to the paying customer,..Whhaaaat! https://silodrome.com/ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-competizione/ True story So now I had a plan... I kept working on the engine while I played with the body Started cutting up the front end ...and that's where we sit so far... Comments and critiques welcome Cheers
  4. Built this awhile back, a fun kit to build. The kit. Lowered with aftermarket wheels, Other than that, its oob.
  5. Small detour from building a 1/8 Ferrari, this Lambo. Will be fairly straight OOB I am going to go Splash Lava Orange with it, here are my inspirations
  6. New from Fujimi Models, their FJ Cruiser kit, part of the their no paint and glue series, you get a few choices of the what color the body is molded in, White, Black and Yellow.
  7. While waiting for things to dry on my Pagani build, I was thinking about how cool a 288 Roadster would look. Since my special kit No.9 had a screwed-up bonnet vent, I decided to use it as my test model. I discovered that all the kits I've had molded in the red plastic ALL had the same warped bonnet vents, so I decided to try the white plastic kit No.105, since a friend told me his was fine.....so I ordered two white ones, and they were both fine! What I learned here, is that if you don't want to use the PE vents.....which I don't, then you want NOTHING to do with the kits molded in red. Anyway, I will be playing around with this here and there in between builds.
  8. The hard fought build of the F40 is done. I learned a lot of what not to do with PE parts (my first time). It’s not perfect but I’m happy overall. I gotta do another one of these, maybe yellow tho...
  9. Hi everyone, For the first time in about a year I'm starting a new kit. This is also the first time I am posting on a forum, so keep that in mind. I got myself the full engine kit of the Veneno (very hard and expensive to come by in Germany) My hopes are maybe a few tips, a few people who like to stick around and maybe someone I can talk model stuff with My skills are rusty and never been a pro. The kit will be hand-printed...no spray cans or airbrush (no location)
  10. As teased in a couple other posts, I’ve started an F40. It was my intention to hold off until I had completed some of the stuff going on, but I couldn’t resist. Sorry @Dann Tier, it’s red. Lol. I had an incident with my new drawer liners and had to sand and reshoot the rear valance.
  11. Starting this project that will be mildly super-detailed (like that’s a thing), but will definitely not go all out. Will be building this one just like on the box – presentation version. I have bunch of these kits, and will likely build some liveried versions in the future, so this will be a trial run for the kit. I will use a combination of Fujimi-provided and aftermarket photoetch on this one, CF decals, and other extra bits here and there. I bought a HD PE set for this one, but some of the parts are not accurate for the presentation version, so will use what was provided by Fujimi, especially for the front and rear mesh pieces. Fujimi fret provided in the kit: Hobby Design set: Started with the rear mesh, hoped to drill out the mesh piece itself leaving the frame to attach the PE piece to it: In reality, it turned out too fragile, and I broke it several times while handling, so scrapped this crazy idea. After test fitting the mesh, it appears that it won’t be needed anyway. Air outlets glued in place and seams filled: Since I removed the rear mesh, I also removed the pegs where the chassis plate is mounted in the back. I wanted to retain at least two in the front, so had to come up with the solution to keep them and cut the opening for the front mesh as well. Slightly cut the sides: And removed the front molded piece but left most of the mounting holes there: Can’t really see it from the front: Test-fit the mesh – still too tall – need to remove more: Now looks much better – tucked in nice and flush with the front spoiler: This is where I am with this one for now.
  12. Starting this as well today. @Snake45 gave me some good advice on the crushed a-pillar. Since it turned out acceptable, we’ll get to building. I’ve never seen so much extra plastic
  13. Hi folks, some months ago I did this build of the Fujimi DeTomaso Pantera GTS. This is a pretty simple (curbside) kit, but rather new (2012) and well done by Fujimi. The only downside of the kit are the thickish, lense-like glass parts... Here we go, hope you like it.
  14. Hi All, I finished this kit over the weekend, after several weeks, of slow progress. I am really pleased with how it came out. The body is from the Aoshima RX7 Spirit R kit, engine and chassis are from the tamiya kit, and the aero bits are from a fujimi kit. I discovered along the way that even though they are all the same car, and scale, each brand has modeled the car slightly differently, and so not all the parts played together all that nicely. A lot of filling and sanding had to happen to the bonnet, and chassis to make it work with the aoshima body. I didnt get around to doing a WIP on this build, Thanks for looking Nathan
  15. This is my Fujimi Enthusiast Porsche 911 Turbo. Its totally detailed, and since NONE of these Enthusiast Porsches has hinges for their hoods, I had to SB my own.
  16. All, this was finished a few months ago, but I was quite annoyed at the fact that the AC Schnitzer decals fell apart when trying to apply, that i lost the heart to post it... I thought I'd take advantage of the sun today to post some pics. It is coated in Tamiya Silver base coat, BMW green touch up paint (filtered for large flakes) and clear coated with 1K Zero paints without any polish. the kit is basic, but builds up ok, there is a build thread on this site too. the interior is turquoise, but doesn't suit the car. If I was to do this again, the interior would be black, white or cream. All the decals were shot on this kit, they looked OK, but they disintegrated when trying to apply. Comments and criticisms welcome!
  17. A bit of a pain to build, as I had to make my own interior door cards. not the best turn out of a model, but it will look good on the shelf. Finished in Tamiya Silver with 1K Zero topcoat - polished with Nuvous 3 part system. Comments welcome...
  18. This model was completed relatively recently, it's probably the cleanest model I've created. It helps that there was no paint job on the body to screw up, since the white plastic it came in was the color I wanted. It could've used some small details like the black inside the grille and more interior detail. But at least I was able to paint the brake calipers red like a true Japanese car enthusiast (which aren't very easy to see, unfortunately). The worst part about this build is the reverse lights, which are very difficult to make neat if you're not great at painting, like I am. And like a lot of these Japanese kits, the hood isn't removable and there's not a complete engine, which is a shame. And yes, I put the Autech decal on the back even though I used the standard body kit, I didn't realize at the time what that sticker meant. Anyway, thanks for looking and tell me what you think.
  19. Hello, here is my latest finished build, and at same time my first finished Porsche model ever!" Its nice Fujimi kit and goes together well. I got bit weathering accidently cause i did mess up with panel lines. I think it still looks cool.. I hope you like it.. I used Aoshima BBS wheels and printed finnish licence plates, and also german flag. Rest is out ot box.. I went with bit retrolook with doing chrome foiling on window mouldings etc... They should be black..
  20. Here is my Porsche project.. Color is Ivory from Maston colors, its rattlecan spray paintjob.. Chassis is done, interior is almost there and body is awaiting for detailing, decals and first of all polishing. Wheels are from Aoshima.. 17 inch, BBS Type RG
  21. By no means one of my better builds. TBH after three superb Tamiya kits on the run this Fujimi kit was always going to present less 'builder appeal'. Don't get me wrong the 'car' is nice I really like it, the kit isn't and those terrible 13" wheels look like castors on an oversized couch !! - No matter he she is in glorious Tamiya TS-22 'Light Green'. Please feel free to make any comment, ask a question or hurl abuse. Back to the NASCAR Lumina build now. Ian.
  22. Hello, here is my newest build, its Toyota TE27 Levin from Fujimi kit.. I did spent week to build this since i wanted to finish it fast becouse there is model contest soon on next week, and i wanted to build something new to show up there. Its my second model show so far in my life time so im bit exited.. Not a big show, but still one to go. Ok about built and stuff i did for this.. Lowered chassis from front to get that stance look good. Aftermarket 13" ATS wheels with tires from this Fujimi kit. Interior got door handles etc, also there are some speakers and nice flag in back. Colors Olive drab and matt black with some Molotow touches, and also painted some wood treatment for steering wheel. Color is Tamiya TS Forest green, i guess it was for some Aston Martin, but suits well for about any car. Also made Japanese lincence plates to fit on US-size license plate frames Not muct time to make more on week but these i made to build this puppy. After all i had much fun while doing this, and i could build another with more time and maybe more details.. but here are the pictures.. Enjoy Cheers
  23. Hy Guys, Long time member but don't think Ive posted before. I have the re-issue of the Fujimi 1/12 Nissan Skyline GTR (BNR32) on it's way. Very reasonable price from Hong Kong too. This kit, together with the MFH 1/12 Ferrari 250GTO, is a holy grail for me. Just wondering if anyone knows of any after market products for this one. I'll post some photos in a sort of unboxing once its here in the next few days. Cheers Brook
  24. Hi Guys, My first start to finish build since joining MCM. There is a build diary in on the work bench but one of my pals said he cant see the video I think I might be uploading on a sub thread. Hopefully from fresh you guys can see this one, let me know what you think hope you enjoy the video. Thanks to everyone who followed the build super motivational
  25. I really wanted the 458 as a spider rather than the coupe. So I waited for someone to launch a model/transkit............ and waiting, and waited, and waited. Once the 488 was launched clearly there was never going to be a spider coming, so I took matters into my own hands. I grabbed my sons diecast 1/24 scale 458 stripped it apart and made a silicone mould of the body and cast the spider body from resin. I then cut the roof and back section from the fujimi kit and sculpted the engine cover in from the cast using milliput. I then re-sculpted the hood and back end to represent the Ferraro 458 Aperta. Just for good measure added in door inserts from an italeria 288 GTO I had for spares and scratch built the front end, again loosely based on the Aperta. Oh and added some monster 22 inch rims I call it the Ferrari 458 Aperta M, let me know what you think
