Hi everyone. My nickname is Joca and I'm of Brazil. This is my first post here, hope you enjoy the photos. Any comments and suggestions are welcome. This kit was a 1/25 Jo-han gluebomb. I disassembled all the parts I could with some brokens in the way. Decided to give a new personality for this classic I have started cutting the fenders and channeling the body. My first attempt to do that. Don't have much time to dedicate to the hobby this will be a very slow work. Thank you for your time and attention. Best regards.

Hi guys and merry christmas for you all!! Here is my last one for year 2017, its Revell 29` roadster.. I did plug wires and exhaust end on rear, then i robbed those flames and pinstripes from 32 sedan kit.. Paint is Tamiya TS-89 pearl blue, paint job came out nice and shiny, only panel lines did run off paint, well better luck next time... Here are photos, enjoy

Picked this up for $8 at a place called Ollies that sells discount goods along with a few other models. Came out really good, I just hate having to make the suspension on these things. I don't have four arms to hold the things down and glue. Just completed this one recently (it may get some light weathering in future, though. We'll see...). This is a project that was started in 2013, sat in the box for years, and then sat partially assembled for over a year before I decided to make a few changes and finish it up. Some notes: -AMT 29 roadster, AMT '34 Ford flathead with aluminum intake stacks and scratchbuilt wire looms. Headers modified from Revell '32 Tudor kit, AMT '34 Ford wire wheels on Johan Mercedes 500k tires out back, and Revell '31 Woody wire wheels/tires in front. Firewall was modified with extra flanges to look more like the 1:1, and it has a flattened front crossmember and AMT '34 Ford coupe front axle to get the front end down. Cut-down steering wheel, '31 Woody door handles, and the windshield frame was chopped and removed from the stanchions then attached to the chopped-down roadster roof--so they can be removed as a unit for that stripped-down racer appearance. The headlights and taillight/license plate are held on with wire clips and are also removeable. Thanks for looking!

I wanted to do a WW2 themed hot rod drawing based on the P51 fighter plane. So below is the completed line art as well as a few progress pic's -

For those that did not follow (albeit not a great one to follow due to slow progress and lack of updates) I present my '32 Ford Pickup. This was inspired by Alexander Brothers' Grasshopper, and was not meant to be a replica. I started with the not so good Lindberg '32, and used bits and pieces from various sources such as a modified suspension from Ala-Kart to include more realistic airbags, Pegasus wheels, 29 Ford bed, Flathead from the 50 Ford pickup, and scratch bits and pieces such as the oil filter and gas tank. This model was picked up and dropped on a concrete floor by my grandson before final assembly so there is a hairline crack in the body/paint on the lower front corner of the driver side, but you almost cannot see it once on the frame. I am just glad that is all that happened because it could have been so much worse. I just finished it up early Sat morning in time for the Modelzona in Phoenix. Sanded off the molded in texture on the roof, Scalefinishes Peterbilt Green. Most all of the chrome is Alclad except the tread-plate in the bed which is foil.

This build is inspired by the very early front engine dragsters such as Dick Craft’s “The Bug” and the HA/GR H.A.M.B dragsters. It will be built as a “barn find” brought back to life in all it’s rusted and dirty glory. The imagined builder was on a budget with limited resources. This build would not pass any current inspection and was inspired by the days when guys risked life and limb in the name of speed. Most parts are from the 31 Revel Woody kit. the rear end is from the 50 AMT chevy truck. front tires from the wild willie borsch kit. Seat, gas tank, break lever and pedals are scratchbuilt The plan is to convert the 2 port Riley OHV head to a 4 port head w/ straight header pipes. A crude, square role bar is in the works. Question/Advice: should I keep the front mounted gas tank? Were there mechanical fuel pumps for these motors? I could feasibly tuck a fuel can behind the firewall to provide a gravity fed fuel delivery. The battery will have to be front mounted since the seat is on top of the rear end.

Any ideas for an uncommon engine choice for a 34 Ford rat rod? Something other than a SBC or flathead V8 but beefy and mean.

This is a 32 ford rat rod I built back in 2001. Chopped and channeled over a Zed frame. Flathead V8, aftermarket finned heads, scratch built carb breathers and headers. Piecrust slicks out back, whitewalls & steelies up front.

hey guys, I'm looking for reference photos for a hopped up version of the 4 banger flathead in the 31 woody Revell kit. The kit comes with an ohv conversion and a few other speed goodies. I'm looking to plumb and wire it for a dragster so the water inlets will be capped off.

My version of the Revell '32 5-Window coupe. -Olive Drab paint w/Testors Lacquer -some engine wiring -detailed interior - complete with "leather" upholstery and piping, using Model Factory Hiro products -scratch built side view mirror -the hood straps are made from scrap "leather" upholstery w/PE buckles

Been a while since I've really built up anything, but have a newly crafted build space in my basement, and figured it was time to do a quick build. Noticed most of the tributes to the late George Barris touched on his work on the Batmobile, Monkeemobile, and other Kustoms, but my longtime fav, the wild Raiders' Coach, didn't get much attention. I did a little digging and found little else -- this one seems to have made its mark on pop culture back in '68, and then vanished seemingly into thin air. In any case, I managed to get a hold of AMT's 2000 re-pop of the original MPC kit last night, and at least got the frame for the tow rig, the coach chassis, and the two Pontiac 428 blocks glued together. I'll be building it somewhat quickly and largely box stock, but I do have a few little tricks in store for it that you might get some "kicks" out of, so stay tuned. :-) -Evan

Recently I have built a few custom Harley Davidsons and a Cadillac lowrider, all in bigger 1/10 scale. My latest addition in this scale is this 1932 Ford Tudor Hot Rod. Completely built out of genuine Lego; It has suspension, steering, engine wiring and hosing, and a lot of retro-chromed parts and a few custom stickers as well. The model also has working doors, full interior and fully detailed chassis. Hope you like it!

The Copper T is finally finished! The model I began with was an old Monogram Ford Street "T" Roadster. The only modifications are the wheels/tires and I lowered the front suspension. Exterior Paint is Revell Enamel 93, and the Interior Paint Revell Enamel SM 378. Thanks for those who followed the build, enjoy!

I meant to post this story about a week ago but forgot... So on August 16th I was at an antique machinery show checking out some old tractors and stuff, and I felt like that morning it was going to be a good day. I put on my NMRA World Finals @ Beech Bend raceway shirt and headed over to the show. While at the show I was wandering thru the flea market they had set up, and a guy had some old models for sale. So I picked up an old '54 Chevy "Hot Rod" edition for $20. After the show I went home and I intended to weld the cowl on to my '88 Mustang project. I was sitting around winding down from the day at the show out in the hot weather when a friend of mine posted on my facebook that the guys from Roadkill were on their way down to Bowling Green, KY to Beech Bend Raceway (I ironically had that shirt on) and that they were passing thru Cincinnati on the way from the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit! They were to arrive in about an hour and a half, so I jumped up and hopped in my truck and ran over to Springdale where they were making a pit stop! There was already a welcome committee there waiting! Then..... They pulled in... Driving their new Dodge Charger Hellcat dubbed "General Maintenance". This was the Charger they drove in the episode where they thrashed the Charger, Challenger, and Viper on the motocross track! Here's David Freiburger, after he ran inside to eat some tacos, talking to the crowd thanking them for showing up and he started passing out stickers and signing autographs And here's Mike Finnegan signing autographs and talking to people as well So I snapped some pics with the guys, they were super cool and very nice and total car guys. Very willing and happy to talk to anyone and everyone Mike loves v8 jet boats... and so he gravitated towards the owner of this thing The owner of the burrito restaurant that invited them down also had a beautiful Lark wagon and so they hopped in it for a picture with him Then they had to get going so they hopped back in their Hellcat and said their goodbyes and thank yous, and took off! So during the meet and greet I remembered I had that model car I bought at the tractor show earlier, and I grabbed it from my truck and they were gracious enough to autograph the box for me. David even said "wow, I remember when they first started making these things!" And of course, I had to come away with some merch too!

Browsing around Tumblr, I stumbled upon this concept by John Frye: It looked more like a coupe with the roof removed than the standard roadster body, so I sourced a Chopped AMT body, and got to chopping: Wheel/tire assemblies were pilfered from a 1:32 scale Airfix omnibus kit, as were the fenders. An emory board contoured the tires to look more pneumatic. And after I sprayed them black, I removed the paint from the tires to reveal their original light gray color. Powerplant will be a stock-ish Model A banger, though I intend to display this one as a curbside. I teched it up a bit in the front, opting for IFS, just because I wanted it to represent a modern take on a very vintage look. That's not set in stone, though. With the right drop axle, I could build a new frame pretty quickly.

I had an itch to build a '60s Hawaiian-style hot rod after watching the latest installment of Mad Fabricators' Society, so I went down to the LHS and picked up AMT's recently-reissued '32 Ford Vicky. Like East coast rods, island cars seem to be known for being deeply channelled, often running molded, raised fenders, and with as much sports car influence as hot rod style. I started by modifying the interior to accomodate a deep channel (10+ scale inches?). After that, I re-shaped the front fenders: A couple of shots of my mock-up with the kit-supplied custom fenders mounted a few scale inches above where originally designed: Engine for now looks like it will be a Hilborn-injected early SBC, but we'll see how that all works out.

I just wanted a share a couple of pictures with you guys. I've seen lots of cool stuff in this section and I think this is worth sharing. It is a '31 Ford Model A from Finland, with an original steel body that has been chopped 4,5" and channeled 4". The frame is also modified to make it lower. The engine is an Early Hemi with six chromed Stromberg carbs. Those pipes are Loud! Hi Guys, This is a project that I started in 2011 but got put to one side for about a year and a half. It stalled when I realised the floor and firewall wouldn't fit as the engine is slightly further back in the chassis. I'm currently working on making a new floor, firewall, etc. It has scratch built frame rails that incorporate the suspension from the Revell prostreet Willys kit. The fenders were modified to take the wide tyres at the back (with the pickup bed given tubs). The engine is the hemi block from the Revell 5 widow kit with other bits taken from various places. I am hoping to get this finished soon so plan to spend quite a bit of time on over the next few weeks and will update this thread with my progress. Anyway, here's a few pictures to get you a feel for where I am at the moment. The chassis is pretty much complete: The engine needs the injector hat to be finished and then it'll be ready: A mock-up to see how everything fits together: All comments, suggestions, etc. always welcome!
