The poor man's Q siren using the parts from the AMT Americal La France kits. It's not exact but shape is close enough, detailing is left up to builder. greg

Got this earlier in the year from Ollie's. Finally got around to building it. It's a nice kit. Goes together pretty easy. Yep that's right! I have plenty of projects on the workbench but I knew as soon as these kits were in my hands I would be Sweeping the Bench off to focus my efforts on getting one of these Awesome 78 4 door sedans built. I plan on making some changes to the chassis and engine bay so it will look less like the MPC kit. I'm really excited to get it started. So much so that I don't even have a plan for it. ? One will become an LA Black and White... later on, but I want to build a civilian/general public car... maybe a Driver's Ed or Pizza delivery driver from the 70's early 80's?

Johnny Lightning Coca-Cola van, stripped & repainted with Tamiya pure white. Custom decals by Speedway. I added the oval-shape to the front grille to backdate it. The '97 also featured a different side mirror design than depicted on the Johnny Lightning model, so the mirrors themselves are from the AMT rescue van, attached to mounts shaped from music wire. The roof-mounted corner mirror is from the AMT ALF Eagle pumper kit. The "windows" in the side doors are black decal. The three roof-mounted floodlights are Shapeways items from the Downrange Productions store. Chris

Made a few minor tweaks to the Motor City Resin Kurbmaster kit to get it closer to the Chevy C20 shown in my references. Very nice kit, and good for my first resin kit given the simple shapes and low parts count. Decals by Speedway; roof-mounted AC unit and ladder racks scratchbuilt. Ladders are from an AMT American LaFrance fire truck. The lights are a modified Custom Squads item, and the sirens are from the Downrange Productions store on Shapeways. Chris

Roof lights are a modified Custom Squads item, and decals by Speedway. Body paint is from automotivetouchup.com, and I used Alclad chrome on the grille and wheel covers. Chris

This is the very nice Norscot Tahoe, factory-painted white. I added Speedway Decals, pillar spotlights & siren speakers from Shapeways, roof lights from Custom Squads, scratchbuilt/spares box antennas, and the wraparound parts of the grille guard were shaped from brass rod and added to the center kit part. Chris

Repainted stock version with the wheels from the CHiPs version. Roof lights & prisoner partition are from the Revell '91 Caprice, and custom decals by Speedway Decals. Pillar spotlights are from the Lindbergh Crown Vic. Chris

I used the 2016-2019 style headlight & taillight decals I found on eBay to update the body style. Custom decals by Speedway Decals; roof lights from Custom Squads. Push bumper is a modified kit part with Shapeways siren speakers. Chris

Custom decals by Speedway Decals. I swapped the stock wheels that come with the white model for the police-style steel wheels of the police boxing. The push bumper is from the Welly Tahoe with Shapeways siren speakers. Pillar spotlights from the spares box. Chris

Stripped the factory Coca-Cola paint and then repainted with Tamiya Pure White. Custom decals by Speedway Decals; roof lights are from the CMW Crown Vic, and the rear-facing directional lights were scratchbuilt Chris

This one's number 3. Backstory is a poor amateur radio operator needed a used car with a strong electrical system. This one looked like a good deal as an ex-Michigan State cruiser, maybe used by a ranking trooper as it had some nicer features. Colors are are by guess, I couldn't find 2 pictures that agreed.

This is the Motor Max diecast model that Testors reboxed in kit form; custom decals by Speedway; spotlights, grille strobes, and roof light mounts are 3-D printed Shapeways items. Grille guard is scratchbuilt, and the dash-mounted radar is from policecarmodels.com Chris

Wheels/tires are from AMT's 56 Victoria. Rotating light & side mirrors from the spares box, decals by SpeedwayDecals.com Chris

Tamiya 1999 Subaru WRX WRC car repurposed as a Victorian (Australian state) Police high speed pursuit vehicle. Built as a slammer with blacked out glass and no engine. The kit's rally tyres were swapped out for treaded road tyres. The light bar was homemade with clear acetate droop molded over a wooden buck heated in the kitchen oven with a brass base and chrome spruce pieces inside to represent the lights. Tamiya clear red and blue finish it off. Homemade Police decals and side strips. Added stretched spruce and acupuncture needle antennas plus a scrap sprue speed detection unit. Rattle can white finish and homemade custom number plates that give a nod to the rally car's major sponsor "555".

Built these for a couple of retired Tyler officers. These are the AMT Joker Goon Car/Gotham City police boxing, with wheels, tires, and overhead lights by Custom Squads, and custom decals by Speedway. Jonah

OOB except for the license plates and an MV Products lens for the tail light. Custom decals by Speedway Decals.

Wheels & rear deck lights from Custom Squads, decals by Speedway Decals. This represents a patrol vehicle that was reconfigured for duty as a supervisor's car, so I simulated a few rubber plugs where the wiring for the roof lights & antennas were removed.

Did what I could with the headlights to get closer to a 76, compared to the later style in the kit. Decals by Speedway, overhead lights from Custom Squads. Chris
-
Combined the Revell Impala & Caprice kits to get a '95 Caprice; wheels & tires, side mirrors, spot lights, and license plate mount are all Custom Squads resin. Custom decals by Speedway Decals. Roof light legs are from Shapeways. Jonah

My latest project start, my take on the 1971 Ford Galaxy 500. It uses a old AMT Boss 429 Police Car as the base donor. See if I can make a Gator McKlusky ride!
