Scale I Build

1. resin body 32 woody on 32 basic builder everything else
2. Converted Monogram's '70 Buick GS hardtop to a '71 GS convertible (see on the workbench)
3. Just received a couple of awesome Chevy’s from Steve at reasonable price points. Look to get more in the future, great service, great communication, great product.
4. I'm building a kit bash camaro. I am wondering if anyone makes resin car seats. Does anyone make camaro seats? Is there a site I can go to and find custom interior for models? Worst case if anything let me know what kind of model kit to search out for these parts. I'm trying to find these exact seats/interior for my build. I believe these are from a 73 camaro.
5. Thanks to Landman and the miracle of eBay, I now have the key elements of a '40 Ford woody. I will be finishing up the Duesenberg TROG project first but this one will be next in line. I look forward to seeing what I can make out of this combination.
6. Hi everyone, I was trying to find a topic on here about casting your own backing plates but could not find anything about it. I have a set of scale 40 Ford backing plates and was wondering if and how I could make an "unlimited" amount of them for my own personal projects by casting them in resin.. if that is the right term? If anyone has any tips on how to mold my own brakes that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Austin
7. Hey guys, Olson Brothers is at it again with a new, handmade soft-top for the Revell Bronco that will fit either the original version or the new Baja Bronco kit that's coming out. There are also new side rails and much more available on our "favorite" site.
8. this is a 56 plymouth fury resin sitting on a jada o6 concept camaro complete chassie and interior. the 2 were sitting in my model build room side by side and got me scratchen my head. picked them up and checked to see if wheels lined up and it was off to the dremel for some grinding, triming, tweeking. got it to all fit under and its ready for road course at goodguys car show. enjoy now hope i can figure out how to post the pics
9. Fender skirts are available now for the Foose Cadillac! These are handmade and fit perfectly to the body, however the kit tires and wheels are too wide to use once these are installed. If you're using the normal tall & skinny whitewalls they will fit fine as shown here.
10. Let me know your opinions about this Ford cab and notify me if you are interested.
11. Has anyone had trouble with Alumilite clear resin not curing completely? I'm very careful to get an exact 50/50 mix; parts often come out soft and sticky. Is Part B the catalyst, and if so should I use a bit more? What's been your experience with it? Thanks as always for your help! P.S. Room temp is mid-70s, humidity 35-40% if that helps.
12. This is the first build I've done using resin. The goal is to recreate the white 1955 Crown Victoria that was my mom's first car. Her dad, my grandfather, got it for her on her 16th birthday. Swanky. She loved the car and is very happy I'm building one for her. Here is what I am using to do this build: - AMT 1956 Crown Victoria - Hendrix 1955 Crown Victoria set (resin) - Continental kit from seller ronald6386 on eBay - Aftermarket wide whitewalls by Pegasus, from HobbyLinc (1/24-1/25 1950s Style Wide Whitewall Tires Set (4) (Stevens)) - Wire wheels - either from AMT '62 Thunderbird kit, or more accurate ones if I can find them Pics attached.
13. New AAR hood for the new Revell 1:25 scale Cuda kit. This is not based on the old Revell AAR Cuda hood. This is my own creation. I used my friend's AAR Cuda hood for measurements. It should be availbale in about a week or so. I need to do some more finish work on it. I'm thinking of posting these on eModelCars, since a lot of people seem to not like ebay. I can sell for less on eModelCars without all the ebay fees. If you're interested let me know what you think. Sam
14. I bought this kit that did not come with an engine I'm looking for a source for a D-Series engine in 1/24 scale. any help would be greatly appreciated. There was someone selling a resin version on ebay early 2016 but I cannot find it anymore.
15. I had posted a teaser on my 2013 model thread, here's what's on the bench right now. This is a replica of a van a buddy-0-mine drove back in the summer of 1978 when we delivered pizzas in Holmdel, NJ for Luigi's Pizza. Most famous customer? Bruce! He lived on Holmdel Road at the time. Anyway, this project is older than dirt, from back when Jimmy first poured this body. I did the paint job and put all the parts in the box. There were a few things that stumped me at the time, back before PCs and home printers. Now those things are just a piece of cake! We are officially up on wheels for the first time. The chassis is complete, wheels and tires are glued in place. Note that the truck was brush painted so the jagged lines etc are intentional. One dirty white wall, a loner from the bottom of my tire box. It's randomly placed, I had all four tires face down on the bench and just put them on as they were sitting. One of the things that kept this one in the box back before we had computers and such was the graphic Don had painted himself. Of course this one is printed from an Internet image of the original, modified and reduced to fit. I didn't want to mess with masking off the entire truck, so I painted some clear decal stock silver, then printed the image on clear. So it's two decals, kinda Cady decal style. And in this picture you can see how my printer is screwing up right now. At least you can't see it by eye on the truck because it's a small decal. As I worked I remembered more about the truck, and that it was an old Bell Telephone van. So I stopped production to run out and get some Testors Olive Drab. I masked off the truck and shot the inside of the shell. Then I did the extra pieces like door panels. Then I worked on the interior a bit. This is just mocked up, but I did the seat weathering and added belts. Carpet is an adhesive sheet. I honestly don't remember what color carpet he had in it, but I had red and needed to get some colors into the truck. And I don't remember the exact decor, but I had these saved with the project (from an old BMG Record Club flyer) so I just had to use them! And yes, the real truck looked just like this. Letters will be done with Alclad. The project is at the point that I can't stop thinking about it, so I will be back at it tomorrow!
16. Does anyone know a retailer with a good selection? I have looked for weeks and some places have a few items but usually not much. Looking for wheels (modern style) but engines etc would be nice as well. Wheel and tire sets would be a big plus too.
17. With the advent of 3D printers. Can a site be created to share designs, ask 3D questions, or help others for repair parts or ideas?
18. Just wanted to say hello to everyone here at MCM. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions. Jim Riverview Hobbies
19. This build combines the Revell 1964 Thunderbolt kit with a Jimmy Flintstone resin body. The teardrop was removed from the bonnet (hood) and replaced with styrene and filler. A parts box 289 engine was fitted, along with an aluminium driveshaft and plastic rod for the exhaust aft of the mufflers. Wheels/tyres by Pegasus, and paint is some old Duplicolor rattlecan.
20. I have recently returned to the hobby after 20+ years away. When I was building, before, there were no resin casters. Now there seem to be a lot. My first purchases from a resin caster were terrible. LONG waits, no communication and when the parts arrived...well, lets just say that they left a lot to be desired. I have learned from this, and have ordered from people that are highly rated, and my faith has been restored. But recently, I ordered some resin from an E Bay seller. Lots of good reviews, lots of products on his page, good prices and great communication. And when the part showed up, it is so warped and twisted, its useless. I real;ise that some parts need clean up and some adjustment, but there is no saving this Im not looking to bash this seller. What I want to know, is how do all of you deal with those parts that arrive and you realise, the moment you open the box, you wasted your money. Thanks
21. I've been looking for either a Stinger or L-88 hood for the Revell '69 Nova , and I found this : http://stores.smhracing.com/1970-nova-l88-hood/ . Any-one familiar with this organisation's service and products ? Will this piece fit the Revell kit , or is it made for the AMT '72 Nova ?
22. Here is my last complete build. It's my MOTM entry for the holiday theme. Resin 1956 Ford Country Squire. I'm thinking about a few more trees in the background. I love it even though there are a few flaws like I noticed I should have sprinkled more snow on the front end to get a comparable amount on the wreath. What else could I have done better?
23. Then it`s done after having my fair share of trouble and issues. Here is a little what is done. Flintstone body. (Many hours of sanding to make it decent) Lindberg chassis, interior and drivetrain, tires and hood scoop. Polar Lights max wedge exhaust from the 65 Coronet. Tamiya racing white exterior and Tamiya italian red with BMF ultra chrome and black chrome details interior. Missing Link dog dish caps and Scenes Unlimited steelies. Underhood decal from the Color Me Gone kit: Says Caution aluminium front end. Mirror from my parts box. Headlight lenses from ScaleProduction.de Here are some pictures, the light was really strange tonight. Hope you like it,or not, feel free to comment anyway lol. Some smaller adjustments and corrections will be adressed. Thanks for looking.
24. I have been away from the hobby for several years (20+). When I was last building, there was no resin casters, no photo etch, BMR, etc. Now, its like being in a candy store with whats available. But my first couple of purchases did not go well, little or no communication, l-o-n-g delivery times and bad quality parts. I was disappointed. But I thought I'd try again. I ordered tires and wheels from Scenes Unlimited and a Chevy BB from VCG Resins. Wow! Good communication, parts delivered right when they said they would and some real nice products So I'd like to thank these guys and recommend them. Great doing business with them
25. Here's a new '50 Olds Custom I have in the works. It will have slanted B-pillars. I may ad some other custom parts with it. This is my 4th new car this year since getting back into resin casting. Thanks for looking, Sam
