Scale I Build

Found 4 results

  1. I'm building a canyon-carving Pacer wagon, and a live axle with parallel leaf springs just doesn't seem to go with the theme of the rest of the build so far. Does anybody have any suggestions as far as modern, mid-sized independent rear suspensions are concerned? I was thinking perhaps a Revell Challenger or Charger may be a viable donor, or perhaps a Camaro or latest generation Mustang. Has anybody built any of these that can speak as to the quality of these rear suspension sub-assemblies, and how easily they can or cannot be separated from their associated chassis? I'm not looking for a street rod style rear end, and I think I'd have to go too far back to find an available Corvette kit that didn't incorporate a transaxle. Edit: I'm using a Toyota 2JZ-GTE for power, so if there's a European or Japanese subject that has a decent rear suspension to adapt, I'm down for that, too.
  2. I just bought myself an airbrush, so after years of rattle-can painting, I'm hoping the paint comes out well on this. This is a nice kit. Everything fits and the mould seams on the body are virtually invisible. So, here's the paint on the body. I decanted from a rattle can and got messy doing so. Then I realised that spraying into the can lid, was a better idea than trying to spray into a little bottle! You live n learn... I'm very pleased with the results. Hardly any orange peel!
  3. Why not step into a genre you never tried before, this is what i asked myself. The MK4 Supra is maby one of the most hyped up supercar from Japan ever made. These cars despite having a cheap hard plastic interior, common on many 90s cars do have a very classic shape to it,i really like it if not riced out with bodykit`s and screaming colors, subjective taste from my side of coarse. I will skip the rear spoiler, maby go for a more clean and dragrace-ish look over the track styled stuff. Did order the single turbo set-up from Model Meister, and a big turbo from Hobby Design. The wheels will hopefully be here soon. Did modify the exhaust by removing the two middle mufflers with a straigh pipe. Kept the original rear muffler, this will get a 4" tip to it when it`s done. I ordered some braided hose,so this will be my first time attempting this stuff for detail. Well, this is how far i am now. Thanks for looking.
  4. Here's a Subie I just finished up. You can read all about it and see more pics on my site at the link. http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/wrx_sti_stanced_page.html
