  1. Painted (I think) Testors Italian Red with ultra gloss clear, interior is Tamiya medium grey. This one is the original issue. Built box stock except for swapping out the 3 barrel for triple duces. Started in 2012 and just finished today. I had to super glue the top of the firewall to the body and then the front subframe to the body to get it all together. Frustrating kit for final fitting but looks good when done.   2. As a companion piece to both the 69 Chevelle SS396 and 69 Camaro, I decided to build the small block version of Revell's Nova in hugger orange with Testors wet look clear. Thank you for looking, all comments welcomed.
  3. Thanks to a suggestion from this board that I build a Corvair in hugger orange, I thought instead I should get this one done first. Started back in 2008. Painted Honduras Maroon with clear coat, I have the engine done and the interior painted with Tamiya TS-69 linoleum brown. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.
  4. After five years, it is done! I started this one back on January 15, 2015 and just now got it done August 7th of this year. Painted Testors White Lightening with wet look clear, interior is Tamiya TS-69 linoleum brown, straight out of the box. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.
  5. Started yesterday, I believe that anyone that builds Camaros needs to have a Hugger Orange 69 on their shelf. Here is mine. Painted with Testors Hugger Orange and wet look clear. I took off the Camaro emblems for a cleaner look. This will be built out of the box except for tires and wheels. In other words, the cross ram intake with headers and the barely there exhaust system. I'm using the non SS grille on this build as well. I have a simple black interior to go along with the orange body. I want to put the black stripes on this, I hope they cooperate.   7. Started in 2011, I gave it a Tamiya Metallic red paint job with a wooden deck tan interior. I have some of the trim BMF but need to finish it. This got interrupted by those Corvette kits!
  8. Before I decided to get my 5 year old Corvette projects done, I started this one. Basically box stock except for a tire and wheel swap. The chrome trim on the side has held me up on this one. I need to get back to it soon though.
  9. Started back in 2015, I am finally getting around to finishing it. Painted Testors Nassau blue with Tamiya TS-54 light metallic blue interior. This will have the tri power big block in it.

  11. Started back in 2015, this AMT kit is an adventure. The front and rear bumpers did not fit well so there was a lot of sanding and puttying done to correct it. Painted Testors Fiery Orange with wet look clear, interior is Tamiya TS-69 linoleum deck brown. The 454 has the single 4bbl intake. Tires are from the new release MPC 70 Bonneville kit. I still have some fitment issues to deal with. I also have an MPC 74 Corvette convertible painted the same color that I am building as a companion piece to this one.
  12. Somewhat of a partial kit, I started this one in 2015. Tires/wheels and brakes (I think) are from a Revell 59 Corvette kit, painted Tamiya TS-20 metallic green. This will have the "bag of snakes" side pipes and a tri-power 454 big block.
  13. Started in 2015, painted Tamiya TS-97 pearl yellow with TS-69 linoleum deck brown interior. This one has a singe 4bbl big block and kit supplied custom mags, tires are from Model Haus.
  14. Finished today, painted Testors' Hugger Orange with Tamiya TS-13 clear, box stock except for the Firestone tires from an MRC tire/wheel combo. Thank you for looking, all comments welcomed.

  16. Started in December of 2015, I finished it up today. Glad this one is done! I don't remember what color it is painted, I think it was a testors auto lacquer teal but am not sure. Box stock with modifications to the frame to get the suspension sitting a bit lower, it's now almost stock height :-) Simple all black interior, hence the lack of interior shots. Below is a group shot of the ones I've gotten done this month, all except for the 2012 silver kit, that one was done a few years ago. Thanks for looking, all comments welcomed.

  18. 1948 Chevrolet COE, started with AMT 1950 3100 Pickup kit. Partsbox model, based on a resin Cab Over Engine body. Built this when film cameras was the thing, ran this through my studio shoot for Desert Scale Classic COVID Special contest (not entering). If I recall correctly, the COE resin body was All American Models, ordered from a magazine ad, not available now; required massaging the hood, and fenders. I had the bed left over from my Canopy Express project. The headlights, taillights, wheel centers, and 409 decals are from the 1962 Chevrolet Impala 409, which I made a demolition derby for the other magazine contest. Tires are from the horrible Nitto Lamborghini Countach kit, had someone turn aluminum rims. Front bumper is modified AMT Ferrari 250 SWB kit. Mirrors from the Tamiya Volvo BTCC Estate. Resin copy of Tamiya Vehicross gas cap. Detail Master photo etch wipers. Plastistruct diamond plate, the Bare Metal foil has wrinkled up, really need to rip all that off and make new parts, then paint with Alclad. Real Cherry wood bed rails with dovetail corners. Corian is the frame, since it's a true Curbside. Parma fluorescent yellow paint. Scratch-built the grill, running boards, license plate the moves up for trailer hitch. This is the second street rod I ever built, and no plans to build more. Thanks for looking!

  20. 1991 was the last model year that the United States Border Patrol painted their vehicles white over light green (I don't know the exact paint code). Since the BP bought Caprices as their basic patrol sedan that year, they were the last sedans to utilize this paint scheme before the agency switched to all-white cars with a green stripe the following year. The kit is from Revell, Jetsonic light bar is from the AMT Ford Taurus police car kit, and decals are from Billbozo. Paint is Tamiya Pure White over Tamiya Pearl Green and the side molding was made from Evergreen stock. In retrospect, I should have added a cage for prisoner transport but we will just say this is a supervisor's car. This is my second complete kit and again, I learned a lot from it. I mostly got to work on my BMF techniques. The only real mess up I had was that I accidentally spilled glue on the front windshield, something I was not able to fix. I owned this 1969 Chevrolet C-10, got from a friend who needed the money, died last year, nephew bought it because it was sold new in Safford (still had the service plate with the manual) to a relative. It grew on me, found out why they are very coveted, much like the model kits! 😳 I nicknamed it The Green Barge because a friend owned a nice motorcycle named The Green Monster. Currently own a 1968 C-10, so can use for reference (which is the same blue this model was painted). Going to build for a future diorama idea, so not going to scratch-build an accurate chassis, but will grind off the left exhaust to replicate this truck (I wanted to put on twice pipes). Bought off Facebook Marketplace, it was built half decent, seller had stripped the body, I'm stripping and rebuilding the rest. The plan is to improve some things, and modify to resemble the trim specifications. The interior is going to be a major scratch-build: cut out the bucket seats and make a bench seat from Corian, dash will get gauges behind 'glass' (minus little auxiliary ones), add shift lever and turn signal, pedals, door panels were steel with simple arm rest. Exterior will have the upper trim removed, the raised wood grain needs to be removed from the lower trim, tailgate will be a major change, drill stakebed holes, modify the front bumper, sidelights need to be basic, and fix the horrible taillights. Scratch-build: the license plates, rear bumper, mirrors, toolbox, steps, driving lights (which came off my MINI). Aftermarket details: gauge faces, slotted mags, and the big deal item is the '69 grill! I took reference pictures with the tape measure in the picture when I sold it, will post them as I get to those parts. Start off with these photos to give an idea. Puttying the massive ejection pin marks. Going to order Splash paint per paint chart, 503. The original owner had it repainted, including the interior! When I replaced the left headlight, discovered why. 🤨
  22. My first build of the year is done! A series of paint mishaps led to multiple repaints and even a body replacement on this Impala. If you can name a paint problem (crazing plastic, sputtering rattlecan, overzealous polishing), it happened on this build. Each time I had to restart the painting process, I set the project aside to recharge my patience and focused on other pastimes, including (but not limited to): Fixed the turntable and recorded some old vinyl into digital form Got the family's four bikes ready to ride Watched the latest season of Luther Read Stephen King's The Stand When my enthusiasm for the project recharged, I got over the painting hump and had fun getting the car finished. Now that it's done, it's time to post some pics. I'm glad I chose this color, Evening Orchid. The female figure came from a Mazda Cosmo that's been on my build list since I saw a 1/1 at the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA. The figure looks kind of bland at the moment, but she's an early attempt at a non-automotive subject. This engine photo shows flaws harder to see in person, but I like how the BMF gives the chrome valve covers and air cleaner a "light daily driver" look.
  23. Recent "Original Art" series reissue of AMT 1/25th scale kit. Modifications as followed: Custom "Aero" front and rear bumper parts that came with Monza were used. GTO style hoot tach bump from unknown source. Most of LT1 motor from AMT '94 Camaro manifold; oil pan and water pump/pulley pieces came from AMT Monza V8 Custom headers (may have been the ones for the 350 turbo setup) from a MPC 82 Knight Rider Firebird Custom side exhaust made from scrap plastic sprue and muffler+tip from unknown subject Ricardo like seats and shiftier from MPC '70 Super Bee Pro Street Kit came with 3 dashboards, one was a newly tooled piece with better details that was used. Little did I know it was such a poor fitting piece that it required trimming to get in the grooves in the door panels. It worked out, but still Round 2 double check these things! Wheels are custom ones from a Revell '50 Ford F-150, painted Rustoluem Metallics Pure Gold. Front suspension was lowered as it sat too high, rear was left as-is. Yet again, front tires are from a Revell Acura RSX, and the wider rears come from what could be an AMT Fast and Furious Veilside Toyota Supra. Brakes are from a Revell 4th Gen Camaro Interior paint is Krylon Rose Gold Metallic; exterior paint is Rustoluem Color Shift Galaxy Blue cleared with Pledge.   24. Revell-Monogram 1/25th kit circa 1998. Kit was missing quite a few pieces, but regardless modifications are as followed: Kit's dashboard was lacking instrument gauges, ones were added using unused Revell Datsun 240z decals Kit's side glass pieces were missing, so mesh screening pieces were used in their place Custom LT1 style fuel injection setup made from an AMT 94 Camaro manifold and a 67 Impala Prostreet 427 intake Edlebrock valve covers from AMT '34 Ford 350 V8. Air Filter is unknown piece from parts bin. Kit was missing headers, so ones were gathered using stock headers from a Revell '57 Ford motor, which give it a custom look and fit the ports on the heads nicely. To accommodate the new headers, a new exhaust system was made. Plastic spruce pieces were cut and bent to route to the kit's rear muffler Wheels are from an old Radioshack Xmods wheel set, which look about 1/24th and resemble OZ BBS style wheels. Brakes are from an old AMT grey molded source of an unknown subject (Fast and Furious Monte Carlo?). Front tires are from a Revell Acura RSX, and the wider rears come from what could be an AMT Fast and Furious Veilside Toyota Supra. Interior paint is Rustoluem Advance Formula Flat Brown, and the frame is Rustoluem Universal Aluminum. Exterior paint is Tamiya TS-58 Pearl Light Blue over Rustoluem Silver, cleared with Pledge. Ignore that the valve cover had lettering upside down. I thought they were installed correctly but the engine was faced a different way before it got panted. Oh well, should still run fine!
  25. AMT's 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne Pickup. I used to own a 1969, standard model without the fancy interior and extra side trim, it was sold in Safford, AZ and still had the Protecto plate in the Owner's Manual, bought from a friend whose grandpa was the original owner, made an agreement to sell back when he had the money, but he died, nephew contacted me to buy it back. It worked on a ranch, so it had the strange back bumper, it had been repainted after the front right corner was wrecked, I removed the saddle tanks, plastic bed liner, and chromed bed edge protectors, so off the bat it's not really an accurate replica. I took other liberties, some things if I fixed it up sort of things, and not doing the air-conditioning parts. WIP: AMT - 1969 Chevrolet pickup: The Green Barge I made several pieces such as the the taillight section, tailgate, bench seat, door panels, toolbox, etc that I could sell resin copies of. Fireball Modelworks resin slotted mag wheels, with tires from the Italeri Ferrari 275. Splash paint. The real truck, first day I drove it: Day I sold it: My studio, 1968 pickup. Someday will build that.
