I was just looking around and noticed I don't appear to have ever introduced myself here! (joined on January 26, 2016) I'm not good at typing about myself, but I have been building model cars on and off since I was a little girl. I always blame it on someone buying me a Matchbox car instead of a Barbie doll. I preferred Matchboxes to Hot Wheels because their detail was better... even back then... Fast forward and I, alas, don't build much anymore. Blame it on age, blame it on medications, blame it on lack of funds, blame it on lots of things, but I simply don't feel much like doing anything creative anymore. And it makes me mad... ANYHOO, now and then I look around to see what people are building. I also lurk over at an N-scale model railroad site. I used to post over at the Scale Auto forum, but the Great Photobucket Debacle has ruined many of those threads. I MIGHT repost the build info & images here if I think people would be interested, or if they could help other people who may want to build those specific kits. Getting back into it after many years. Started when I was 10 and bought several kits around $12 each to make 1 rig. Always 1/25 scale because that was all we had. Got out of it in my late teens and now back at 50. Pricey now compared to then..... My intro back into it is a pair of Freightliner COE's stretched pulling 53' reefer trailers. I am well underway with the first one with the frame for the second beside it to show the contrast. I still have sanding to do and fix a few glitches. They will have the appearance of 2 distinct rigs with personal driver preferences like Owner Operator rigs. I have seen some amazing builders on here and YouTube that have me a bit embarrassed to post.....but I love this stuff. More pics to come as it progresses.

Hello all, I am excited that I am at a point in my life to return to my favorite hobby--building plastic models. I caught the styrene addiction early on at a tender age of 9y. Growing up in the 70's was the best because there were so many great car models available at affordable prices. I'm looking forward to reliving some of my childhood by building those kits I cherished as a kid and share them all with you. I look forward to participating in this wonderful plastic playground. Hi My name is Tony Southern and I am from Harlingen, Texas. I am 48 and have been modeling off and on since I was a kid. I am not a very good modeler but strive to get better. I mainly build MOPAR and NASCAR model cars. Hope to learn from some of you all and look forward to seeing your work.

Good morning. Just a little about me, I'm an old goat of 72 that wanted to get back into a hobby I had as a young squirt. I spent 4 years in the Navy and have done just about everything from Millwright to operating 240 ton dump trucks and 28 yard bucket loaders on the Iron Range in Minnesota to computer repair, building and teaching in Florida. Now, I'm retired (retarded?) old man and wanted to get back into modeling. It's teaching me to have patience and for me, it's a very relaxing hobby. So far, I've built a 57 Nomad, 49 custom Mercury, 62 Chevy convertible and a Chevy pickup with plow. Now I want to get into the real custom builds. Just hoping this forum helps me do that. Hi my name is Teddy. I build 1:24 and 1:25th scale cars. My style is Hot Rod...My cars normally end up having "The Rugged Look".....Somwhere between curb side and showroom...."Drivers" would be a good term for my builds. I have been checking out the " Workbench" page of this site. We really have talented builders working on some really "Kool Projects"...I grew up in Southern California in the 60s and 70s. My 2 Older Brothers and Dad were "Car Guys"....Me too,,,,Swap'n Engines, Tires, Grills, Bumpers,,,,,ect. Basically "Hot Roddin' em". I like "Big Fat Tires" and everything..The "Stance" should be the rear end of the car should be "Bow Jacked" Higher than the front....That having been said there are some really low Rod/ Rat Rods that I really dig,,,,,,I built my first Pro Steet recently, a 57 Chevy. Man that is a "Mean Looking Bel'Air". My point is Hot Rod'n has many different forms. I really did not mean to write a book..You know how it is....when we start talkin' about the "Plastic" we love. I am not a really big "Computer Guy". I will try to Post some Pics. soon. I have several projects going a Revelle 66 GTO a Amt 67 SS 427 Impala.....And I just put the finishing touches on a "Scratch Build" 63 "Split Window" The Body is AMT the Chasis Revelle and the Engine from a Lindburg 61 ss Impala...Thats right I put a 409 in a 'Vette.....I cant stop look'n at it. If it takes me a while to respond, it is because my typing is slow....My son says my Lap Top is " So old a Tin Can on a string would be faster". Swell.

Hello everyone! My name is Alex and I'm from Australia, I am just starting to get into modelling, and as such have been searching around the net for inspiration and education and have come across this forum which I thought was pretty cool. I have only completed one model so far, a Johnny Lightning Charger I had sitting in my cupboard for like 8 years or so, which I thought of doing but never got around to many times, so after lots of opening it and closing it I decided to give it a go and I loved it. I love working on real cars and such but as an 18 year old I can't afford to do too much so modelling is a nice way to let my imagination run wild without taking my wallet with it. My Dad used to be quite heavily into modelling (Mostly Tamiya Formula 1 kits and such) So he is also part of my reason for getting into it. Here's some pics of the Charger, not great I know but it was missing the odd part and I just wanted to see if I'd enjoy building it so I kind of did it pretty quick, but my next build (Tamiya R32 GTR, when it arrives) Should be 100x nicer. Hi everyone. I really enjoy the site, people, work and advice given here so I decided to sign up. It's been about 10 years since I've completed a scale model. I really want to get back into it and I'm very much looking forward to building my first dio. In the past I've built mostly 1:24/1:25 scale cars and trucks which were mostly box stock save for some wheel changes and light detailing like thread for spark plug wires and other wiring lol I built an airplane here and there (plastic). I'm planning on building highly detailed cars, trucks and rods while trying my hand at custom work/mish mash. Anyway, thanks for having me and I look forward to all that's to come on this awesome site. Keep up the good work!
