Scale I Build

Found 3 results

  1. This past December I took delivery on my dream car! A 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird Tribute car! So of course, I had to get right on building a replica of my replica! I started with a Jo-han Superbird body I had laying around. I also had a destroyed 1970 GTX promo to source the back window from. Many years ago, I resin cast all of the parts for the Superbird in 25th scale. I found that the Monogram nose fit right on the Jo-han kit, with slight tweaking. I also cast the wing and scoops from the Jo-han kit. Believe it or not, the Jo-han wing actually scales out better for the monogram kit, then its own wing does! This model is 95% done at this point. But since my track record on here has been to start a thread and never finish it, I figured I would do this a little bit different. I will post every couple days installments of progress as it was done over the last few weeks. This way you’ll get to see one of my projects completed. This was also a quick build, I plan on doing a better more accurate representation in the future. 😁👍
  2. My good friends bought this restored 327 1967 Camaro last year and of course with the excellent Revell kit out, had to build a tribute for them. Hand made the cowl hood, steering wheel, BM QuickShifter and hand-painted the "Camaro Club of the Rockies" logo sticker on the rear window, and photo-shopped their actual Colorado Vintage license plate. Pretty happy with the build. The 1:1... of course The tribute... The actual car and Club decal 1:1 Hand made steering wheel with Camaro PE center, added door locks and hand-made BM Quickshifter Handmade triangle air-cleaner and MSD system on firewall
  3. This build here is a tribute build to a car my Dad owned, a '77 Firebird Formula. He found it at small time dealer back in the late 80's, did a lot with it and has so many stories he could go on forever talking about it. He sold it just before I was born in '90 for a more "family friendly" car. Of all the cars he has owned this is the one car that if he could go back and save only one from his past it would this one. So I thought I would try to build it and surprise him with it on the morning of Dec. 25th. I'll be taking the Revel Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am and converting it over to a close a replica as my skill level will let me. Here's what it looked like, one of the many, many places he went in that car too. That's what I'm trying to match, here's what I'm starting with. First round of body work, after covering the T-tops, side vents and cutting way the wheel flaps. More pics in the next update.
