Scale I Build

  1. McLaren, famous for their incredible success in Formula 1, designed the MP4-12C which used a carbon fibre composite chassis, and is powered by a longitudinally-mounted 3.8 Litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and produced a small number of cars in order for them to compete in the FIA Group GT3. The 1/24 scale Fujimi kit is enhanced by the use of photoetched parts and carbon fibre decals. Paint is Zero Paints McLaren colour matched with Tamiya lacquer gloss coat with Alclad metal lacquers. Hope you enjoy. Steve Hansford Melbourne, Australia.
  2. Tamiya Mercedes AMG GT3 in metallic green
  3. When Tamiya introduced the AMG GT3 race car I knew I would have to get one, after building it as the kit intended, I got 5 more. Then Platz introduced the BMW M6 GT3, I built one, and then got 5 more of that one too. Below are 4 versions of each car. I have 2 more of each in the Que. The AMG in the "Watch" version, IWC #50 (dull charcoal) and in the HTP Motorsport Mann Filter #84 (yellow with green trim) both decal sets from Slotfabrik of Germany. The remaining BMW livery's are the Falken blue and green car just released, and the Sepang 2017 Fiste #90 car with decals from Slotfabrik. First up, the AMG's Now the BMW M6's
  4. I’m happy with the way this turned out. It was a very nice build, as almost all Tamiya kits are. My only complaint would be the spoiler has a little off kilter to it, but hardly noticeable with my eyesight. The Studio27 decals were very easy to work with.
  5. Starting a few today. The bath is the first step.
  6. So this is Tamiya GT3 kit that I build mainly in box stock style. Modifications include aluminium spun hubcaps that were make by a friend of mine and restyled rear wing. Idea was to create a slat flats racer- styled street legal sports car with local ( Finnish ) EU- plates. Color is Tamiya Blue Violet and decals are from different kits.

    Bmw gt3

It was a rainy day in the philly area today , so a good day to finish a build. The is the round two version of the BMW gt3. A fun kit to build if you like decals. The decals are a bit thick for my taste. The do lay down with a bunch of setting solution . The car has slight weathering as I like to build post race. The interior is done as well, but I forgot to take a picture before the lid went on.
