Scale I Build

Found 4 results

  1. I started a nother project just what I need lol. All I did is take the revells 1957 ford and revells 2010 GT500. I mounted the motor by sanding the stock motor mount. I also took the Center Consul of the gt500 and the screen (don’t now what to call it). Then I used some Tamiya basic putty to fill the gaps Still have some sanding to do. (I would hace some pictures Of the motor and the screen of what it looks like but for some reason it doesn’t let me upload a picture if anyone has the same problem let me now.)
  2. Hello, all. My name is Arturo, and I'm relatively new to the forum. I'm a Ford Mustang guy, and am currently building a 1968 Shelby Cobra GT500 by AMT in 1/25 scale. The progress is slow, as I want to add in as much detail as possible, and the AMT kit is mediocre at best, but I can't help but think about my next build. I'm looking to replicate this car as closely as possible, down to every last detail: https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0513-154080/1967-shelby-gt500-super-snake/ I have an AMT 1967 Shelby GT350 that I plan to use the body and parts for this build, but I'm having trouble with two things,;the tires and the engine. Per my research, the engine is the same 427 used in the Leman's winning GT40 MK II, but Shelby modified it for this test run specifically. I've purchased the Revell parts pak 427, for the build, but that comes with a dual intake manifold, and per pictures of the actual engine, I think Shelby used a single cobra hi-riser manifold. The problem is, I can't seem to find a decent cobra hi-rise manifold. The car itself is 1 out of 1 built, and was used to showcase the promotional Goodyear Thunderbolt tires, which is my second issue. I've no idea where to find the tires used, or anything similar. I figured with all the knowledge and expertise on here, someone might be able to steer me in the right direction! Regards, Arturo
  3. Hi Everyone! This is my first post and my second build (excluding the one I built when I was 9). Very grateful to have found this forum and excited about getting into modelling. Everyones posts and tips have helped a lot. This is my second build and Im working on a 2010 Shelby GT500 Stang in 1/25. Would love everyones feedback. Note: accuracy is usually not my goal, I just like building cars I like. Disclaimer: I own an auto body repair shop and have the luxury of using water borne automotive paints (only for the exterior) using testors enamels and tamiya acrylics for the detailing. Got the engine built and detailed a bit, along with the chassis. For the chassis I used a reverse wash technique I read on a miniature modelling site. Painted the base with a semi gloss black acrylic and topped it with a blue enamel. Then used zippo lighter fluid to remove the blue from the high spots and then dry brushed the aluminum and steel. After painting my first car with spray cans (testors one coat lacquer - turned out pretty good) my brother was nice enough to give me his iwata eclipse airbrush and compressor for christmas. So I built a booth. I took pictures during the process but not sure if anyones interested in how i built it as they're a lot of tutorials online (mine has LED lights and toggle switchs).
