  1. About five years ago, there was a lot of activity in the "What if" thread here (if you haven't gone through it, you should check it out here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/61461-what-if/). While participating in that thread, I decided to apply some of the body mods to a '67 Ford Galaxie that Chip Foose had done to the '65 Chevy Impala (2015 Ridler winner) that is called The Imposter, below is the resultant PhotoChop: Here is the original for comparison:
  2. This one was yet another Street Rodder magazine Modeler's Corner how-to, focusing on kitbashing a "phantom" Model A SuperCab DRW fifth wheel trailer towing rig. The orange graphics came from yet another Revell kit decal sheet designed by the late Brian Bordon, while the charcoal gray paint was from the Testors Car Colors paint rack and those deeply tinted (actually, opaque) windows were unexposed camera film. This one was never finished in that there's no engine or interior (yet) and the chassis, derived from a 1/32 scale semi-tractor kit, was a bit crude in its design. I was also never fully pleased with the paint, but I didn't want to redo it, nor bury it in a bunch of clearcoat. Will it be finished? Given that it has existed in this state for just about exactly 30 years now, probably not, but never say never....meanwhile, thanks for checkin' her out! TIM
  3. Just completed this one. I used three paints for the body in layers, starting with Tamiya Light Gunmetal, then Tamiya Gunmetal, and finally Model Master One-Coat Blazing Black Lacquer. I printed these plates off some time ago when I did my KISS Army Vette Van... Borrowed "Dirty Donny" skulls for a cool look... And I made a rear tire carrier to fit my fifth wheel. Wheels and tires came from my Jeep CJ-7 kit that met a tragic end with the floor and our cat. Also hard to see are the two gemstone portholes I mounted on the back panels at the rear of the van. Instead of tinting the rear glass, I took sheet styrene, cut it to shape, then painted it Blazing Black. I then glued them inside the van against the rear door, then stiffened it inside with thick sprue. Once all that dried I used Micro Krystal Klear to glue the portholes to the sheet so it wouldn't mess up my work. I'll try to get some better lighted shots of the back to show the gemstones. A nice kit, but be warned. There are flash, edge seams, and sink marks EVERYWHERE in this one.... CHECK EVERY PART.
  4. Finally getting around to messing with this one. Been wanting to do a custom van since my snap together model days of the 70's. I love these vans.
  5. Hallo everyone Today one of my Turbinecar. Look at where I've found it ... 65' Phantom Turbine Wagon Some more pictures, before i tell something about it: ...
