Scale I Build

  1. The MPC '32 Ford Sedan Delivery from the "Switchers" series returns, this time with Coca-Cola decals:
  2. Hey everyone! I decided to start another project over the long weekend and I've had this mid nineties release of the Amt/Ertl '40 Ford Sedan Delivery in my collection asking to be built. In the meantime, I've found that the clear parts tree is MIA and I'm in definite need of finding it. The body will be a gloss black. The white walls were hand painted with Model Master acrylic white. The wheels were shot with Duplicolor Universal Black and then cleared with Testors Wet Look Clear coat. The interior was shot with Testors One Coat Lacquer Root Beer and then brush painted Testors Gloss Wood. I'll do the detail painting for the brackets and run an acrylic mahogany wash over it and see what comes of that. I used white glue and brown embossing powder to simulate carpet. I sprayed the chassis with Krylon Flat Black, detailed it with Testors Flat Brass and Model Masters steel. The Flathead V-8 was painted with Testors Zinc Chromate and detailed with Testors Flat Black, Gloss Black, Flat White and Flat Bronze. I'll make some more progress tomorrow after work. I wish I could bring it with me! Goodnight everyone! Thanks for looking!
  3. Coca-Cola Johnny Lightning 1955 Chevy Sedan Delivery in 1/18 scale. The hood has a cutout option like Ertl had plans for some Hot Rod versions.
  4. I hope all you Dads here had a nice Father's day today and you were 'allowed' some bench time I picked up this Flintstone Nash sedan delivery at the Desert Scale Classic back in April. Great deal, been looking for one for a while with the pewter parts. Quite a bit of prep to get the body straight, but its almost there. There's a coat of red oxide primer underneath the black in case I go for the 'patina' look... The bumpers, well they're gonna take ALOT of work. Wouldn't be bad for body colored ones, but I want chrome...ugh... LOVE pewter parts! Nothing looks like metal like REAL metal! This is just a slammer, so I used the wheels and tires from the Revell Willys ProStreet. Can't see much of 'em, but the big Mickey Thompson meats can be seen nicely from behind! Thanks for looking!
  5. Well here is my 1951 Chevy sedan delivery. Its built some what stock with faded factory paint. The body isn't perfect and neither were the cars coming off the assembly line in the 50's. The frame was modified for bigger tires and the engine is a 60's big block 396 ci that is mated to a transmission that may of been used on 50's Chevy vehicles.
