crazyrichard
after so much sanding and a few mods i was too curious how it looked in one color .. so i shot some filler primer on the cab .... pretty cool ... now it doesnt even have to be 100% straight and flat .. i want to put a bit weathered paint (faded ?) on it ... not meaning the cab is done .. just wanted to see it like this right after primer ? still wet and glossy > willd ry up real matte Edited March 27, 2015 by crazyrichard
wayne swayze
The front end is looking good Richard. I really like the bumper, but the grille and headlights really finish it up! Great job!
crazyrichard
thnx wayne .. im very happy with the grille , they are actually stips that go on the floor of a vw pick up bus (the 1/24 kit) and the headlights really flow into the fenders where they wehere first raised on brackets .. sometimes the small mods are the nicest

crazyrichard
thnx guys !! this morning i closed up the bottom of the front bumper , kept the v-shape of the original bumper backside closed up body licht geschuurd idea time > the bed isnt usable thats real lousy toy platic .. but cool to get an idea option 2 > i have this ecto ghostbuster caddi ... without all the ghost buster stuff .. already primered when i got it like this .... the whole underside floorplate and all fits the caqb almost perfect .. its scary ... i could use that and cut the caddi bodi , using the sides , close up the pannellines from the doors and have smooth sides with a bed on top .. then cut of the fins and the shape is round , had got great potential to end up with a unique custom hauler here you can see the unmodified underside of the caddi .. almost like its made fot it , length is spot on .. when i cut a strip of the front , modify the tubs slightly and make a notch so the cabs running boards go over it .. its fitting ... the the cut up caddy body just fits on the rear .. almost perfect
bpletcher55
great ideas ! Richard , that is going to look so cool . I like the cadi,y sides and the bed between them you got to keep those fin,s ! I,LL be watching !
crazyrichard
thnx blair .. didnt keep the fins then a car cant drive onto it ... >>> first slightly bodyfied the caddi "chassis" , cut the top of the wells and made notches where the cabs runningboards fall into weird and looks horrible , but bare with me cut the sides so the where separate just a loose mock up with a plate to get an idea closed the bed on the front sanded it into shape and now its closed behind the cab
bobthehobbyguy
Cool. Using the caddie for the chassis and the sides of the ramp truck is brilliant. Keep up the good work,

crazyrichard
thnx guys and well actually its a match made in heaven , its insane how the messurement just are so close and everything falls together so easy to get support on the back / rear (still where kind of haning in the air ) i used one of 3 caddi rear bumpers i had ... one was ubercool with a step in the middle and diamond plate (wont show on pics due to dechroming but the diamond pattern is there) really had to tape it because the size is now smaller / more narrow then on the daddy , kind of wedge shaped (slightly) bumper and then i mean taillight section will be modded , it will loose a bit of the caddi looks used the caddi axle pins and backs and with the bugatti rims made it so it fits .. now sitting on the front tyres and this is the stance for the front bottom side .. needs some cleaning up .. and in the end i want to add a lot , remove some and loose the one molded look .. add loads of details and wiring and stuff then really sanded away on the transition from sides to caddi bumper / tails ... i also plan on looing the caddi looking wells in the rear and try a very low opening with a round shape matching the front fenders
crazyrichard
i cut up some bmw fenders .. thinking i use them on the rear .. didnt really work .. but !! i put them up front and went like whoooww custom look , wider , wheels more inside (i love that) and the shape compliments the rear section glued them on .. now its a matter of working them into the fender and running boards

crazyrichard
thnx a lot guys !! i ddint work on a rear wheel well shape .. still thinking about that instead decided to make a final wheel combo ... in the rear i needed some beefy wide tyres pref. just a tad smaller in diameter then the front (not a lot) , needed to be chrome like the front .. and i only had one bugatti rim left so i had to come up with something else ... took a toy car rim (bought for next to nothing on like a sort of yard sale) .. and glued a chrome hub cap in the center ... dit the same with the front to get a matching set ... and man that looks killer on the front rim the front wheels will sit more centered in the wheel well .. need to change that still
wayne swayze
WOW ! You're knocking this out of the park!
crazyrichard
thnx !!! i fixed the issue with the front wheels now they sit nice and center in the well i made the extra edge on the fender and wher it meets the front bumper i made a extension .. that looked horrible so i rounded of the corners and kept it higher . in weird wat bringing that down further makes it look too wide and bulky took some sprue and added a edge under and along the runningboard , flowing into the edge of the fender .. i want to continue it along the bed side
