MeatMan
Impressive work Tim. I have plans to build one as a low rider over the winter to round out my '56 theme (year I was born) so I'll be keeping track!
taaron76
The paint looks great. How many ounces are in a jar? It really does not say on the website. The paint is 1 ounce, pre-mixed and ready to shoot. Tim
taaron76
It's been a while... Crazy busy around here lately. A couple of pics of the '56 Chrysler with BMF and my wheel options. I haven't decided and this is just a quick mockup, but I like the white walls so far. The BMF on this one wasn't very fun and I'm glad that portion is finished. For some reason I had a hard time finding the grooves for the blade to follow. Tim
StevenGuthmiller
I really dislike all of these modern "hoop" wheels, but with the color you've chosen, they would probably be the likely choice. To me it looks a little odd with the wires with the color. To my eye, it would almost look better with an open steel wheel if you want to use the white walls, possibly painted in a contrasting color.Either that, or possibly a simple set of chrome reverse wheels with moon caps. But don't put too much emphasis on my suggestions Tim. I don't have much of an eye for custom cars. Steve
taaron76
Steve, I appreciate your comments. I'm open to anything on this one that will round it out nicely. Those are just the wheel I have on hand. Do you have any links to wheels you are referring to?Tim
horsepower
right on, these are better than the wires.
mikemopar70
right on, these are better than the wires.I agree! Edited August 25, 2015 by mikemopar70
John Goschke
Nice color! One vote for the original Chrysler wire wheels and WWs! Those wire wheels are THE look for mid-'50s Mopars!
ProStreetOnTheStrip
Make that 2 votes for wires and white walls, not a big fan of big modern wheels on 50's hot rods and cruisers.
slusher
Foil looks awesome. Either set of wheels look great...
StevenGuthmiller
After a little thought, you might want to consider a set of Dodge 4 bar spinner caps. After all, it is a Mopar & they're a very popular "period" custom touch on any custom. The look especially nice with wide whites. I used a set of the Pegasus ones on a '60 Dodge. They're really nice! Ron Hamilton
That is one nice car. With that color, I would do a set of 22" wires from the Revell Monte Carlo SS, or Cadillac Escalade.
MeatMan
Nice foil work. I love the way the doors, trunk, and hood line up nicely.
taaron76
Just a little stance mockup on the '56 Chrysler. I will probably drop the rear just a tad. Tim
mike 51
i like the wires n whitewallsdo not like it on a rake..low and level works far better! Edited September 4, 2015 by mike
kevjoh
Just wondering if it's possible to paint two complete model car bodies with the pre thinned 1 oz jars of Gravity paint?
MGL
Not only does the paint look great but that color just looks right on that car! You sure nailed that one, good choice Sir.

taaron76
Just wondering if it's possible to paint two complete model car bodies with the pre thinned 1 oz jars of Gravity paint?I think you could, just depending how big the models are. I can't remember how much I have left over on this one, but it might be a little less than half.Tim
taaron76
Thanks for all of the compliments, fellas. I am going to lower to back a little bit to get ride of what little rake was there.Tim

taaron76
I finally got to assemble some of the engine. Out of the factory, the 300b's engine was very clean... not a a lot of vacuum lines or other wires from what I can tell when looking at reference pics. Clean and easy! om617
Looks really good. If you go for the 5 spoke, have you consider paint the spokes alu or gun-metal? All chromed they kinda look like those Jada Toys wheels,of coarse taste is diffrent from person to person.
taaron76
I accented the wires with a light black wash to make them pop a little more. I think they look OK for what I'm going for on this one. Thanks,Tim
taaron76
Chassis and suspension is finished up on the '56 Chrysler. I haven't mounted the exhaust yet, since I still have to flock in the interior floors. Progress... Tim
