AC Norton
..........beautiful piece, Richard...looks even better than all my 1/6 scale gi joe and ultimate soldier jeeps.....masterful,,,,,,,the ace.......
Snake45
Taken with the appropriate photo filters too I see, very nice. I didn't use any photo filters with this. I think these were some old 35mm pics I took several years ago and scanned. Found them on the computer yesterday. I did sweeten them up a little with the simple tools in MS Photo Gallery, as they were sorta dark. ..........beautiful piece, Richard...looks even better than all my 1/6 scale gi joe and ultimate soldier jeeps.....masterful,,,,,,,the ace....... I just found one of those Ultimate Soldier big jeeps last week, cleaning out the garage. Forgot I'd bought the thing. It doesn't look too bad. Might see what I can do with it. I THINK I bought an Ultimate Soldier weapons set that had a big Ma Deuce in it--might see if I can mount that on it instead of the puny-looking .30. mustang1989
Nice build Rich!! I've got this kit in the stash and it looks to be a good kit to build. It even comes with a little photo reference book which was a nice touch.
Roadrunner
How does this kit stack up against the Hasegawa 1:24 Jeep?

Snake45
How does this kit stack up against the Hasegawa 1:24 Jeep?No idea, as I've never seen that kit, but hard to imagine it could be much nicer than this one--that's how good it is. It really makes the old MPC Jeep (which I HAVE built) look like a toy.
Roadrunner
OK, thanks. I have sort of a "thing" for Jeeps, having kits in 1:72, 1:48, 1:35, and 1:24, and soon, the Dragon 1:6 scale kit as well.
Jim B
Nice job on the Willys these, Snake. Does it come with the M1 Carbine?
SfanGoch
How does this kit stack up against the Hasegawa 1:24 Jeep?No idea, as I've never seen that kit, but hard to imagine it could be much nicer than this one--that's how good it is. It really makes the old MPC Jeep (which I HAVE built) look like a toy. Excellent and clean build, Snake. No overdone weathering and the OD paint job is perfect. I just started working on the Hasegawa MB. Jim Banner, owner of Large Scale Armory, sent the Hasegawa MB and four of his 1/24 AM sets to build up and review. BTW, the accessories can be used on the Italeri kit as well. Both the Italeri and Hasegawa kits build up nicely. The problem with both are the wheels, especially the sink marks around the mounting bolt details on the Italeri kit. The Hasegawa kit has separate rims; but, the detail is a bit soft. Snake45
Nice job on the Willys these, Snake. Does it come with the M1 Carbine?IIRC, the carbine came from the old AMT/MPC "Joker Goon Car" Dodge.
Harry P.
Very nicely done. Could almost pass for the real thing, and that's not easy to do.
GrumpyGrowly
I found most of a similar kit by MPC at a garage sale. Missing all the guns, but thats ok. Could make some sort of CJ. Loved watching Rat Patrol as a kid.https://youtu.be/YxcmDCo9LLI Edited August 8, 2015 by GrumpyGrowly
