Don Sikora II
Ron's Mundelein Hobbies is more of a train shop, but I was in the area and stopped in last week. It had been a while but I was pleasantly surprised how many car kits he had in stock and he seemed to have a lot of supplies too. The Hobby Town USA off Waukegan Road in Northbrook is decent too. Joe Handley
I work for the St. Charles HobbyTown, we have a good selection of paints, supplies, tools and kits, some of which are way better than retail priced. We even have a bunch of 1/16 and 1/25 snap General Lee kits!
BIGTRUCK
Basically Danno theres is nothing here you cant get at home, The closest place to get or see older kits may be Model Empire near Milwaukee, and Im not sure about them its been a while since I been there.Pretty much any hobby store that was above average is gone. Unless you need a bottle of blue paint or yesterdays release of a kit you can buy any place, go to Portillos and have a nice lunch and read a model magazine [you'll know which one]. Have a pleasant trip to our fine city.
