slusher
While the government claims no lasting effects, there are life long residents here that will tell you a different story. Areas of Utah, which were down wind from the test site, still have a higher than normal rate of cancer. Monument Valley is still contaminated and is specifically named as being a source of cancer for decades of film stars and crew. There is a reason the test site itself is Federal Land and off limits to the public.Remember the test site and Area 51 are two separate entities.Area 51 had it's own issues with toxic waste disposal in the 90's. The place is such a secret they couldn't acknowledge/disclose health issues amongst employees even under oath.GMonument Valley i think that was used in the Airwolf series. Agent G
Harry, I don't know about Chicago, but it was proven St. Louis was a target city for the aerial spraying of chemicals. Apparently in the 1950's the government sprayed several types of chemicals across the city to gauge their effects on the populace. At first they claimed it was to check air flow patterns allowing more accurate weather forecasting."Weather Balloon" anyone?G

Ace-Garageguy
If we actually knew what our government was doing, we'd all jump off the nearest window ledge. My nearest window ledge is only 4 feet off the ground. My luck, I'd just break a leg, wouldn't be able to work, and end up homeless. And speaking of Area 51 toxic waste...fact is, some folks involved in the B2 and other stealth programs developed some apparently fatal health problems after exposure to certain chemicals used in and on the aircraft. Cool airplane though. Edited August 29, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy
Agent G
Every project since about 1955 has generated it's own level of toxic waste. My understanding is the development of radar absorbent coatings contributes the majority of the issues. That, and aliens of course.................. Ace-Garageguy
Yes, the coatings were a primary issue. It is also my understanding that on the B2 particularly, some of the structural epoxies were more toxic than had been anticipated. Some epoxies in general civilian use can cause "sensitization" of some individuals, with symptoms including but not limited to bleeding from the pores of the skin. Some of the B2 stuff was worse, by a fair margin. And as you say, toxic materials were generated and disposed of at 51 (in open "burn pits" or trenches) from the early days the facility operated. Petetrucker07
I notice a difference in the amount of produce trucks runnin around here. There's not as many as there used to be. I heard, Mike Lowery Trucking has a huge barn at their main yard in Dixon, Ca, that supposedly has 100 brand new, zero to extremely low mile trucks that were ordered and never put to use. The same goes for Panella, SVT, VPT and a few others. The amount of farming in the central and imperial valleys has dropped significantly. The Imperial Valley is very dependant on Colorado River irrigation. I hope this winters El Nino helps the situation.

AzTom
When i was a kid in the 70's every UFO reported was a weather balloon official response on the news. Ok, we may be onto something here. All those weather balloons have been absorbing the moister out here in the west and became huge water balloons. They burst every now and then causing flooding in other parts of the world.Just say'in. Agent G
Hasn't Las Vegas taken some pretty dramatic steps to reduce water consumption? Every major casino resort built since 1990 has water conservation as one of the top priorities. I know it doesn't seem that way, but they do. I see the plans before they get built. Residential areas have their own rules dictated by the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Very interesting concepts at work out here. High octane
Hasn't Las Vegas taken some pretty dramatic steps to reduce water consumption?Yes, as a friend of mine just returned from there and said they now only use TWO ice cubes in every mixed drink. Ace-Garageguy
Please oh please don't get started on the "chemtrail" thing. It's been common knowledge since the advent of high-altitude aircraft (common knowledge to anyone who pays attention to reality and doesn't buy into every idiotic conspiracy theory that comes along...Jade Helm, anyone?) that what we're seeing here is nothing more than condensed atmospheric moisture, cooled rapidly after being expelled from aircraft engines in the hot exhaust gasses. They are called contrails. WW II, B-17 contrails. These aircraft didn't have enough of a payload capacity to carry a bomb load AND chemicals for making "chemtrails". It's atmospheric water. Period. Some real studies have suggested that if you get enough of these artificial 'clouds', they can have a cooling effect on the atmosphere below by partially blocking sunlight, and so MAY have an impact on weather patterns. End of story. Edited August 29, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy

Ace-Garageguy
Thanks for the good illustration of the contrail phenomenon, Greg. Many of the photos on the web purporting to be "chemtrails" and portraying the differences between them and contrails are obviously doctored or outright fakes, and surely no one who's spent their lives looking at the sky would believe the hysteria hook-line-and-sinker. They often fail to take into consideration the very low temperatures in the upper atmosphere, and the stratification of layers of the atmosphere...with temps and wind velocities and direction varying with altitude, often unpredictably. While I certainly don't doubt the government's ability to do stupid, often destructive things, sometimes on a massive scale, I don't believe these trails are some kind of nefarious secret project. It's also because of relaxed importation regulations (can you say NAFTA? Remember that?). More and more produce is coming from Mexico and Central America. Not just the pointy-leafy Colorado kind. Less produce production in the USA? Thank your government.
