my neighbor gave me some old tools after her husband passed away,  so I’ve been restoring them in my spare time.

this is a Woden #4 Plane made in England early 1960's

it was in really rough shape but I got it looking pretty sharp! and sharp enough to shave with

But you've completely destroyed its value as a collectible!:o  Just kidding!  It looks great. Having restored a few to "not pretty but fully functional" condition, l have a good idea how much work you put into it. That is some major rust removal. Did you replate the cap iron or just clean and polish it? Either way, nice job. Now go make some shavings!

What is evapo-rust and how does it work?

you just soak stuff in it and the rust disappears, non toxic you can stick your hands in it, pretty safe stuff and a good product.  You still need to polish stuff out after to remove as much of the black carbon left from the rust though.
