Gregg
Finished a quick, real quick, build of the new Galaxie 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster Coupe kit. Remember, this is quick. Will be featured in next issue of Model Cars.
mike 51
What's with the lines on the glass? This is the 2nd one I've seen like that so I assume they're all like that?Doesn't seem your quick build is the issue here... Gregg
I am pretty sure it's for the black rubber seal.I was going to try and paint it/mask it, didn't have time/ability to.
mike 51
Maybe...seems kinda big for that, almost like the large black borders on late model 1-1 cars. It'll be interesting to see how it looks painted, the other one I saw didn't have them painted either.Nice paint job by the way. Ramfins59
That looks really great Gregg. I can't wait to get one. I'm sure it won't be long before someone comes out with a chopped roof body for this kit.
Gregg
I did a quick fix to windows Will do article on this later Just noticed the front fender/door panel line I did the black line drawing with technical pen on the body doors, but didn't do the fender door openings. Oops!
horsepower
Those lines for the window weather stripping are about the right size for all but the roll down windows in the doors, they didn't have weather strips around the glass,, just the felts in the runners, and a wiper strip at the lower outside, the inside was a felt and stainless strip Edited September 1, 2015 by horsepower
mike 51
looks much better..thanks for the update.
Gregg
The more I look at this model, the more I am impressed with it.Definitely it's a Two-For.Build two of them. One, quick, like this. Seeing where you have all the issues, what needs to be glued first, painted or repainted. For the exhaust, I rushed it, and had to cut the exhaust where it goes over the axle since I didn't put it in first. Also, had to play with water pump hoses, to get them on right way. Really needs to be done right, and taking your time.Unless you are our buddy, Marcos Cruz!!!!! I really liked this build. I may recycle it, or do another Coupe. I am doing the new '47 Fleetmaster Aerosedan, but that's going to be a bronze/brown lowrider custom.awesome kit
LDO
That looks like a great start for a lead sled. It needs full fade away fenders and maybe a slight chop. I'll bet some aftermarket company offers that.
Gregg
Does anyone make chrome eyebrows for these year customs?

horsepower
I thought that Detail Master used to have them, if I can find my old Stock I will check on them, I can remember having some but can't remember exactly who made them

oldnslow
Really nice build in such a short time.Beautiful paint, how did you get it dry enough to polish in 1 day? and what kind is it?Next touch up would be chrome trunk hinges? thatz4u
nice kit, a little costly though..
bismarck
Really nice build Gregg!! I have this one in my stash. I plan to build it "Gas Monkey" style, Semi-gloss black paint, wide whites with chrome reverse rims, lowered with a slight rake, sbc with dual exhaust, disc brakes, stock interior. At least that's the plan... for now....
misterNNL
Three days??Really.....Three days!.....I can't pick a paint color in three days...WOW...nicely done
mike 51
It sure is "pricey" for what is essentially a modified re-issue. How can Moebius,as an example,do brand new kits for so much less?
