traditional
I'm enjoying photographing some of my old models that were completed decades before the digital photography age. This model was completed in the late '70s, mildly modified from a 1/25 Strombecker Scarab kit. I was following an article in a sportscar book about one of the original Scarabs that had been modified into a street version back in the day. Mods included the hood scoop and the polished exhaust. I do have an original unbuilt kit that I intend to build into the original race version one day soon. MonoPed
That is really nice! Didn't know there was a Scarab kit other than the Monogram MkIV slot/curbside kit.

'70 Grande
Really nice build! I had no idea a street-version of these little-monsters ever existed; bet it'd get some attention at the local drive-in!

Dave B
Hi Cliff, the Scarab looks great, nice build, build. I tried to pick one up on EBay a few years back but could never win one.RegardsDave B

rmvw guy
Nice model! This one reminds me of one of the Strombecker slot cars I had as a kid. It was more like 1/32 scale.
Danno
Superb! Always loved those Scarabs in road-racing. Looks great as a road car.
Hoffman
Very nice, Clifford. That car is something of a "holy grail" for many of us. Would love to have one myself. So far I just have white metal versions of the wheels. 😂
