'38 GMC cabover car hauler

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I got this 38 GMC resin cab from ebay, and decided to make a car hauler using it. It's going to be curbside, no engine or chassis details. Frame is 3/8" x 1/4" balsa sticks with thin plywood tabs for the axles to go through. The bed is sheet styrene with 1/16" half round edging. Wheels & tires are a set of big rig wheels from Moebius. Rear fenders are made from the lid of a can of Testors clear paint. It's shaping up, but there's more to do. I'm considering making the bed tilt, pivoting on the rear axle, so you can use very short ramps for loading. I plan to use it as sort of a rolling diorama, displaying my newest models on it. Comments and suggestions welcome.
