Does primer count as painting something? Some of it gets to come right back off, apparently I am out of practice with bodywork and painting.

  Travis,

As far I know Primer is considered paint ! :-)) And yes it is a step forward . Even though you may repeat the process a couple of times.

Nothing sandpaper and some filler won't fix as of yet. I am a little nervous of the primer, I used it once before and it flaked off pretty easily. I cleaned this truck much better though. It is amazing what all you find wrong once something is in primer.

That's why primer is an important step. It locates all areas that need a little TLC:)

It's definitely is forward progress spraying the primer and it sure does show the bad spots.

It's all a part of the process to getting that nice shiny paint job.

Looking good Dennis.

Looking good Travis! Yes, primer does count as paint. I had a couple of cars over the years that never made it past the primer stage. Speaking of removing what you put on, I used almost a whole can on the hood of my Diamond Reo. A little advise; Duplicolor paint and primer, as well as many others will continue to shrink as they cure which will continue to reveal places that need attention. If you sand too soon, before complete curing, an area that looks flawless, may not look that way in a week after shrinking. Don't ask how I know that. L.O.L.

Withdrawing this entry from the contest. It's just not going like I want it to and I don't want the pressure of even an October deadline.

      Travis,

Sorry to hear that you are withdrawing form the Build Off. But I for one will continue to follow your build thread on this one.
