That engine looks right at home in there Bruce!  BTW.... (I'm sure someone will know the answer to this), but I'm sure I read somewhere that the first pickup truck done as a model kit was the AMT '60 Chevy, as an annual. Maybe Tim knows.

Thnx Wayne,...not sure of it's history,..but two out of the three are custom? and one is a stock (upper lights and bumpers)...so looking to cast some up,...NEW Territory

Thnx Stephen...are you about 2.25 hrs away from Perth ?

Smoothed the chrome trim on cab back corners....(Lorider gets full chrome)

Filled the grille and got rid of the wipers,..(have some DetailMaster..DM-2003)  for later

Now that I look at it all up close and ,...vent windows, gotta go...

Mocking up engine mounts \

The interior is molded ribbed floor,..

I love the stance since you lifted the rear Bruce.

It is posts like yours that have got me into 60's pick ups.

Thanks Paul,..

The kit is an AMT/Ertl 1999 release...except for the engine....

The Pegasus wheels got a Testors Dullcoat to start,.then a couple of washes of Tamiya flat black / Future mix,..

Then some Mineral spirits on a Q-Tip to remove some wash from the high spots,..

Then another Dullcoat treatment,..

The rims stayed a little shinier, no wash there,.. which is what I wanted.

Thanks for checking in.

Cheers

East / West Coast,... Malibu/Nantucket Chevrolet Blue sorta colour

50/50 colour and 99% Alcohol Thru the A/B @ 24 psi... (really have to push that craft smart paint!!)

Because of the addition of discs all around,...scratched up a new master cylinder

Frame with first washes applied

Thnx for lookin'

Q, C, +Cs welcome

I like the effect that the washes create. Your wheels look very good.

Wayne, Dave, Gator....the usual suspects:lol::lol:Thanks guys

Threw some more paint around...and it landed on some stuff

I tried sanding that craft paint,....NoNoNo....

Just keep spraying coats, then wait an hour and,... 100% cover your last coat...gotta keep an eye on this stuff ,...it's really light

I went with the Black bed, cause y'know,....it's my daily driver and....it's gotta stand up to some punishment,..Likesliding in a case-O-beer

Got some plans for that interior....

Thanks for looking in

QCC's you know the drill

I am liking the color combo. As for abusing the bed. I doubt i. If you are that rough on the case of beer ? That would be alcohol abuse! rofl

That is one beautiful paint job and the truck itself is outstanding! I have a couple of these kits and hope to do it justice like you have.

Hurry up and finish it, you are so close!
