raildogg
I've read enough information about craft paints to go ahead and try it out, but I have one question that I never saw an answer to.How much to make?. Do I just make it in single batches, like what fits in a single paint bottle, or can I mix up a whole bottle for use anytime? If mixing a 50/50 batch and, my math is correct, if I mix a 2 oz. bottle of craft paint with 1 oz. of Pledge as thinner, I get a 3 oz. bottle of paintright?. russosborne
That isn't a 50 50 mix. You want 1 part paint to 1 equal part of thinner to have a 50 50 mix.. So if you are using 2 ozs of paint you need 2 ozs of thinner.Russ
fseva
Don't start to think that a 50:50 ratio will ALWAYS do the trick for craft paint... it's a good starting point, but I have tried 50:50 and found that I still needed more thinner, to get it through my airbrush and atomize well. raildogg
I've never been good at math,L.O.L. So, it's still really trial and error to get the best results. Does the type or model of airbrush matter? I have a well used Badger Crescendo, not ratty but vintage, any thoughts on this. I haven't started my use of craft paint experience. Harry P.
I have a question. Why did you post this question in the Tips and Tricks section???
JTRACING
I mix tons up especially black since I use that a lot, never any problems with it sitting around, been using the same mixed paint for over a year now.
