Ack! Ack-ack!
As all Ertl truck or trailer kits this was a pleasure to build. Most of all assembling such a different model was a very interesting change for a car and truck modeler like me. The only shortcoming of the kit were really nasty seams in the recesses of the rear tires. Nevertheless it was a very nice kit. Hopefully there will be a reissue some day. dptydawg
Nice job on the JD. It is a very interesting kit. It is most unfortunate that Ertl quit making 1/25th scale agricultural models. Carl

Travis T
I had one of those and the backhoe, I don't know why I didn't keep them. Very nice!

Old Buckaroo
Thomas - Bravo on very realistic looking JD tractor. Colors are spot on , I really like this one. The real ones have those nasty seam / flash when the tires are still pretty new. I think you have a better operator for your JD then we do here. Ack! Ack-ack!
Thanks a lot, I am glad that you think that the result looks realistic!I also built the backhoe loader, but in my opinion the tractor model is a bit more attractive. Renegade
Would be hard pressed to say real or model. Great build.
Roadrunner
Looks good. I used to collect John Deere stuff, but most of it is now gone, unfortunately.
dptydawg
I agree that the 4430 builds into a nicer model than the 310 out of the box. The backhoe needs to have some pivot points hinged and a few missing hydraulic rams added, then it it builds into a more impressive model.Carl
Kit Basher
That looks great! Just curious. I have this kit, but would like to build it as a 4040. Are the numbers part of the yellow decal, or are they separate?

Ack! Ack-ack!
Thanks again for the replies! That looks great! Just curious. I have this kit, but would like to build it as a 4040. Are the numbers part of the yellow decal, or are they separate?I am almost sure that the black numbers were printed on the yellow stripes, but I think it should be possible to scan these stripes and modify the numbers with Photoshop or a similar app.
