Back after 50 years
Has anyone used the Meguiars clay bar system to remove orange peel rather than wet sanding? Newbie be gentle if I am completely offbase.
Longbox55
The clay bar systems they sell for 1:1 cars are not for removing orange peel. They are for removing contaminants from the paint surface that normal washing can't remove. The only way to get rid of orange peel is either using a painting technique to reduce the amount of orange peel in the paint (I use the "Norbie Method") or wet sand/polish. Quick GMC
What Bill said. Claybars are for removing embedded dirt and debris, nothing else.
JTRACING
I've used this on my 1:1 motorcycle and it's surprising how much dirt came off! lol, But it won't do anything for a model car as far as polishing out orange peel.
