The old Lindberg battle damaged option aircraft kits? Yeah, I’ve been seeing those at my local Ollie’s store.

Those battle-damaged 1/72 scale aircraft kits were originally made by IMC (Industro Motive Corp.).  The same company that did 1/25 scale car kits like the Little Red Wagon, Ford GT-40, etc.

The first issue of the IMC F-4 Phantom was sold as an RF-4B, the unarmed photo-recon version. It had decals for VMCJ-3, a recon squadron in Marine Air Group 11 at El Toro, CA.  I thought that was great because I was in MAG-11 at the time, working on the recon systems in the RF-4.

Some stores might still be putting out stock from Ollie's last buyout.  But with the shipping bottleneck that exists right now, I wouldn't count on seeing anything newer hitting the shelves there.  Round 2 and the hobby distributors can probably sell everything they can bring in through hobby shops and online sellers.

Wen t to my local store. Chrysler 300, 72 GTO, 96 Mustang GT, 69 Chevelle conv, PB COE, REO, White Western Star., 1/48 Lindberg planes and 1/1200 Lindberg ship kits. I got the White as I have never had the kit and I had 15% off....so for under $17 a good deal.

I stopped in the south end Toledo store today.  I asked the cashier about the Models coming in anytime soon. She told me that everything they are going to have for the Holidays is already in their warehouse.  They purchased everything very early in the year. We will see if they purchased models I guess.

Cashiers nor store managers at Ollie’s really don’t know exactly what they’re getting until it shows up at their store’s receiving dock. It’s same thing in big box retail stores. Only home office knows what they ordered for their stores.

Wife and I went Ollie's today to by an area rug.  While checking out I ask the cashier if they sold model car kits.  She told me they normally get a lot of kits in closer to Christmas and keep an eye on their flyer.  Ill be keeping an eye on their flyer.

It’ll sooner than before Christmas. I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes out before Thanksgiving.

I get your point it that may or may not be true. Some companies don't treat their people like mushrooms.  I do know in the past that they had models here around the second week of October every year since there has been a store here in Toledo, 4 or 5 years now. This is why I even asked. With the storage's of toys for Christmas they could be spreading the news so their customers will come back to shop.
