This 60 edsel was purchased at a club meeting. At the time I was pretty happy to find one at a decent price, but then realized it was broken in several places, and didn't have any chrome. Thankfully Modelhaus was still in operation... The panel below the trunk was pretty straighforward, but how to fix the broken fenders? The pieces were long gone, so it wasn't a matter of gluing them back and doing some bodywork. Thankfully my friend Ed Fluck (Drag City Casting) stepped in. (thanks Ed @krassandbernie) He had a wagon body left over from his dads business (F+F Resin) that sent to me so I could cut off the front of the body and swap it onto mine. And, here's the end result I managed to keep the original builders wild interior paint job Beautiful Edsel!

Snake45
Work continues apace on my '65 El Camino glue bomb. Shown here original condition; after stripping; after most of the glue had been tediously removed with small riffler files and the taillighs filled with J-B Weld and filed to shape, and today after scribing out the door and tailgate lines and the first coat of primer. Sam I Am
Here is one of mine. I am going with a pre-runner style since so much is missing. I already started on the hood. It had the blower hole cut out and I had an extra scoop.

cobraman
Making progress on the two Glue Bombs I bought a few days ago . First one is a drag car and second one in primer will be more of a custom . Many parts were either missing or broken so I had to tap my parts supply . Is there any rule that means if a certain number of parts were not included in the GB that it then isn’t a restoration ????

Your Cobra projects aren't restorations, they are complete rebuilds. You're completely free to do anything you want to them.

1959scudetto
Here are two of my own gluebombs from the 80's: Revell's 1977 "Brute Force" Big Rig custom Chevy van with a Mack-lookalike front - picture of the box is from Scalemates: van is molded in brown, had a slappy two-tone brush paint, which I will remove before refurbishing this one : The second is JoHan's American Classics DeSoto Adventurer I had converted to a convertible/lowrider, a second one was built as a slammer with blacked-out window, and chrometree + chassis and other parts fro a 3rd one are also here. l will either make a stock or a slightly customized HT out of these... Snake45
Would anyone be interested in a rolling "Glue Bomb/Survivor Rescue" community build? I'm not talking about full-on rebuilds here, I just mean cleaning and minor improvements that take a built model to the next level, usually taking no more than a few hours' work. (Many of you have probably seen some of my own "rescue" work here.) I'm thinking along the lines of 30-day time frames--i.e., monthly--because much of the appeal of this sort of thing is keeping things moving in a timely fashion. I find "rescues" to be fun, easy, and very rewarding projects. Sound off it this interests you--if we get some response, I'll start a thread down in the community build section.
