Oldcarfan27
Glad to see this thread revived, I'm hoping more folks post some new prizes (I know you're all finding some - It's time to share what you got)
Khils
Something about this one caught my interest on ebay a couple months ago...picked up in the pics...molded in hood, but was confused at it's stance......so I took a chance. Today...with some extra time, dismantled it & tossed it to the purple pond. WOW! It IS a promo & in fairly decent shape!! ....haven't decided the destiny of the hacked chassis yet, so it didn't get dipped. Guess I will hafta think little more how this one will proceed. WOW, fabulous find! I would polish and restore that one, wouldn't even paint it if it looks as good in 3D as it does in the pics. Congratulations! espo
That cleaned up great. I agree with the Snake this is one to restore. There are plenty of the newer Revell '66 Impala SS kits around to do what ever you want, but Promos like this just aren't.

Greg Pugh
Wicked cool thread! The talent of some of you is absolutely astounding!! Here's my contribution. A poorly customized '61 Ranchero. I tried to give the darn thing away at a club meeting and no one would step up. I almost threw it in the garbage and then thought it would be fun to show the guys what they missed out on. Lol Here's a link to the build thread if anybody is interested: Before: After being stripped: And how it looks now. It will hopefully be painted this month! Snake45
Here's the Big Box O'Glue Bombs I scored yesterday. Did a quick sort-out today, found that there's 14 more-or-less complete models in there! I hope to do a detailed inventory and match up the couple dozen little pieces still loose in the box tomorrow. In the meantime, anyone know what this thing is? Never seen it before, but I suspect it's either Lindberg or Aurora. Might be fun to clean up and display as is...unless it just happens to be somebody's "holy grail" model they've been looking for....
Muncie
here it is, Lindberg offered it several times with various names - was available as part of a double kit about 15 years ago. it kinda looks better without the top... photo courtesy Ebay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lindberg-Kits-Red-Rebel-Kustom-Koffin-White-Lightnin-and-Sportsman-Class/401241337076?hash=item5d6bd8ecf4:g:jmsAAOSwAYtWO7rz

I think the top might be in the box--I noticed a little black thing I thought might be the top for a (otherwise missing) 1/43 car, or something like that. I think maybe those carbs are in the box, too.

It's mainly why I bought the whole box. I MIGHT be able to part with the '77, as I'm currently finishing up a Snake-Fu job on a cool molded-in-orange '74 promo, which is almost identical. But one of my son's friends, whom I'm becoming good friends with, does models and he's restoring a real '74 or '75 Vette--not sure if it's a coupe or roadster. If it's a coupe, I was planning to offer it to him if he wants it. If that doesn't happen, I'll keep you in mind.

That's a cool box of beaters! I'm sure a lot of you guys can relate to this...you see a box of dusty old built-ups, and right away you do a quick scan to size them up....junk....junk....junk....whoa!...what's that?? Like these beaters I picked up long ago. I didn't mind adding the junkers/parts kits to the pile to get that one rare oldie
Snake45
Original (I'm pretty sure) Ala Kart. I'm no expert on Ala Kart but it seems to be complete. (Found the missing right taillight/nerf bar in the box last night.) I have zero interest in Ala Kart so this one will be going up for trade. I think I've read here that the original issues were preferable to the reissues (and the remake) in some way I don't recall, so I'd think somebody out there would give it a loving home. Snake45
Another goodie from my new Big Box O Glue Bombs: Original annual AMT '65 Impala convertible, with the radical wild custom front end and full bubbletop. Looks like it's missing the right front bumperette and the custom taillights, and some of the custom seat cushions (easily scratchbuilt), but looks very restorable/rebuildable, and looks like fun to do so. (If this just happens to be somebody's "holy grail," though, I might be talked out of it for a trade of something equally interesting.) Ron Hamilton
You know I have worked over my share of glue-bombs and dirt daubers. Several years ago, I picked yp this rather forlorn 65 Chrysler 300 Convertible. What you see here is what I bought to restore once I got it apart. It was missing the front bumper/grille/headlamps/covers, convertible boot, which I was able to get from The Modelhaus, a seat back and Headrest, which I scratch built, a wheel and tire, as well as the floor shifter and air cleaner, which I raided the parts box for. The windshield header was cracked at the base, which I fixed, and the left pillar post was missing, which I replaced with a piece of plastic rod. Fortunately for me, It was not painted, and it washed up nicely. Yeech, I thought I was going to find roach eggs in this critter. I was not going to buy it, but my Glue Bomb dealer told me that I could not fix it. I had to shut him up, so I bought it, and went right to work on it. It also had a couple of tire marks in the front fender right on the upper right fender at the side mouldings. It had not been sanded on, and all of the emblems were present. I think it cleaned up pretty nice. When I painted it, I did not realize that the Model Master Silver was so grainy, so I used the Kelsey Hayes Stripper Wheels from the AMT 66 Mercury to give the build a mild street machine vibe. That paint looks like it was off of a bass boat, but I like it. Alas I was looking over the model when I was doing some dusting, and I found a crack in the right quarter panel in the plastic clean through the paint. I surmise that it was a combinat6ion of the brittle JoHan styrene and the mild earthquake and hurricanes we had over the past decade. I may strip it, fix it, and repaint it Tamiya Metallic Red, or just leave it alone. Fortunately, I have been able to do projects like this one in the past with The Modelhaus being in business. Lately, it has been more difficult to bring them back. buying parts off of Ebay vendors have been hit and miss, or too expensive. Fortunately, I have some friends here on the board who has come to my rescue from the wanted section here on the board, and I am eternally grateful to them. Wait til you see what I do to this crispy critter. I picked up a glue-bombed Revell Torino Cobra for the chassis and drivetrain, and Missing Link Resin supplied a lot of other goodies to bring it back to life. I aint skeered of any glue-bomb. Spex84
I picked up a few corvette glue bombs recently in a lot of mixed parts and chrome trees. The '53 is just a shell, and one of the '57s is barely even glued so not sure it counts, haha. But the brown '57 is definitely of the bomb variety...The roof is glued to the windshield but otherwise not too bad. I'm thinking maybe a radical '60s custom 'vette is in the future...
