Some of my favorites.

First a Nissan GT-R. This is a highly modified 1:18 diecast. The front bumper, grilles, lights, sideskirts, trunk spoiler and ground effects, together with the wheels were all scratchbuilt from plastic.

Color is original Nissan Bayside Blue.

Your car is stunning, and the photography as well! I'll share it with a few friends who are MOPAR nuts... They will enjoy it!

OK, here is my offering.

Hardly going to win a show and shine here but after years of trying to get a perfect paint finish with every model I opted to do a bruised and battered VW. I thoroughly loved it and I think spent ten times longer on the paintwork than any model ever before, getting the rust just right!!!!

Congratulations! All I can say is that these images show some of the best and cleanest paint jobs I have seen on modern exotic car models. I take it that you used automotive lacquer paints topped with 2k clear coat?

My guess would be urethane...and 2k clear.

Then again, its probably stuff from Zero, or some other similar thing.

Here are a couple of my favorites. The helicopter was for my son in law, a Marine who flies Super Stallions. They are dirty birds. My first attempt at a helicopter, and with weathering. It has his markings also.  I build mostly foreign cars, 1/43 to 1/12. The Ferrari is a 195 or 212, I forget  I just like the color combo  the 312B is the Tamiya kit

Sadly, I've as yet not finished even one car model over the 5 years I've been a member here, but this is my favorite of the lot so far; Revell/Monogram '70 Dodge Challenger.

Hello, here I show you my 1939 Chevrolet from Revell.
The roof is chopped. The rear fenders were widened and moved up. The front fenders were also widened and the running boards were adapted. The chassis is changed, all suspensions and rear axle are selfmade. LS3 engine with Supercharger.
The paint is Candy-Blue 2 over silver and 2K clear coat.

It looks like DupliColor Mirage blue/green to me. It depends on how the light hits it as it changes between those two colors.

Hello 2zwudz, sorry for the slow response. Dealing with some health issues. The paint is a automotive water borne paint with a urethane clear. I painted a Toyota 2000GT twilight turquoise. I added some blue toner with a dash of blue pearl and this was the result. The side cast reflects the blue pearl really well. I have the luxury of being able to paint with automotive colors since this is what I do for a living. Here is the Toyota . So you can see the difference. The clear coat is sherwin Williams HPC 15 . It is very thin. Not thick like some urethane clears. So it is in scale. But remember to mask up when you spray this. It is very bad for you. Do not spray this in your house even with a booth. It is very bad stuff for your health. Hope this helps.

P.S.. I can tell you anything you need to know about automotive paints but I am a novice when it comes to model paints. I have tried them and cannot figure how you guys are getting a great finish with them. This is why I try to learn more about model paints.
