Aaron_F
I finally pieced together a decent, buildable AMT '63 Ford Pickup and Bonneville go kart. The truck is actually a combination of a trashy '62 and a nice '63 body. No progress yet, but hopefully I can get at it soon!

mod3l Lover
That combo kit is one of my dream finds! It would be nice if it could be re-releasedsome how, some day, some where! But maybe the molds got lost, damaged, altered, etc.? I will be watching for sure. David S. Edited May 25, 2016 by mod3l Lover

It's hard to say what happened to the tooling. AMT didn't make a pickup annual kit in '64, so we know the '63 tooling didn't get wrecked to make the next years model. Maybe it still exists! Aaron_F
I'm planning on doing the truck mostly stock, but with a little surprise under the hood: 390 with 3 2's form the '60 Starliner. I'm also planning on taking the wheels and tires from the '60 kit.
mod3l Lover
Oh yes!! That's gonna be great. Watching and waiting, David S.

I used the engine with the tri-power from the original kit, removed the chrome spear & the hood badges & added a pin stripe, and rounded it out with steel wheels, wide whites, side dump exhaust & a wood bed. Still one of my favorite pieces. Steve
Can-Con
I'll be keeping an eye on this one Aaron, I have one of those pickups to redo someday too. I've already had the chrome replated and got new glass from Modelhaus. Steve, love that truck !!

oldcarfan
This is one of the kits I have been chasing for years. I have finally resolved to maybe just go for broke on eBay next income tax refund. I love these trucks!

Ron Hamilton
Aaron, I am really interested in your project, as I have one of these to do myself. I bought a glue-bomb '63 a few years ago, and started the process of cleaning it up. I stripped it, and now it is in primer. I am considering either removing the side moulding entirely, or Re-doing them, as I am going to do it as a day 2 truck, with an upgraded interior with tuck and roll, and a Grant wood, or flake steering wheel. The big wheels are there as a placeholder, as I am leaning towards either a set of reverse rim steelies with Ford Dog dishes, a set of Supremes, or a set of Raders on pin whites. I have to get this one done, as it will be a tow rig for a Ford Race car I plan to do for next year's Mid Atlantic NNL. Thank you for posting yours, as it will get my creative juices flowing. I am quite sure that your build will be great!!!!
